Inspired by Jess at Elegantly Dressed and Stylish

What to do when you need inspiration for a blog post? Turn to your fellow bloggers and take inspiration from them. When I came accross this look of Jess, my first thought was: oh, I can totally copy this outfit! Jess always looks stylish whether she is wearing one of her many skirts or dresses or whether she is rocking a jean and graphic tee look. I really love it when I can replicate someone’s outfit by shopping my closet and not succumbing to the shopping bug. I had grandiose ideas of really reducing my clothes shopping this year and while I do not regret any of my purchases (I did think them through), I hope to end the year with less shopping and more saving. As things open back up, the travel bug is biting me and the less I spend on clothes the more I can save for traveling and vacations.

I will say though, that I am proud of the way my closet is shaping, I am continually assessing what I have and have gotten to the point of realizing that I should only keep what I really am wearing. I think this fall will give me some insights about a few things that are still hanging there but haven’t been worn. Anyhow, on to the outfit I am copying. In her blog post, Jess wore a denim skirt with a olive top and leopard scarf.

Since my ball earrings are pink and orange, I chose one of my neutral Nickel and Suede earrings to pair with my outfit.

I bought this olive tank at Target last year and really like the detail in the back. The tank is versatile and flows nicely.

I bought the similar circle purse last year on Amazon and it is a fun addition when you want to add a summery touch to your outfit.

I had a leopard neck scarf that I was going to add and I totally forgot about it! So I had to get back out of my pajamas to take one last shot! This is the 2nd time, I copy an outfit, forget an important component and have to go back out to take one more picture! This leopard scarf has been in my closet for about 10 years, way before leopard became trendy again.

Lastly, the sandals were a Payless find after seeing them on a blogger a couple of years ago. I love a wedge heel but do not wear them too frequentely since they are not the most practical pair of shoes to run after a toddler.

I hope you have enjoyed this copycat look! Do you ever copy other’s outfits?
