2nd Blog Anniversary!

When I came up with the idea of blogging a couple years ago on the way down to my uncle’s lakehouse, I didn’t realize that it would be such a fun journey where I would meet ladies from all around the world and how much I would enjoy the experience. I hope I have improved and grown as a blogger (looking back at a few of my first post gave me some chuckles) and I hope to take advantage of the tips you ladies share with me. I am going to do better with focusing on the budgeting side of things (budgeting for trips, for groceries and clothes) as I have found that the past 6 months I kind of have slacked off in that area.

Last year for my 1 blog anniversary, I shared my favorite blog post I wrote for fashion and travel as well as recapping my giveaways wins I won through blogging and participating in giveaways.

This time, I would love to get some feedback from you all telling me why you take the time to read my blog. With so many blogs out there, why do you visit and come back. I am so very grateful for all of my interactions with each of my readers and am thankful for every comment.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from last year. I am grateful we still were able to have some vacations and outings and am very thankful for my boys that are willing to take pictures for me even if they sometimes grumble about it.

I also wanted to give a shoutout to Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood who had be co-host her Thursday Moda a few times last year and then brought back the Sunday Showcase every first Sunday of the month and we now co host that together. Thanks, Ada! I always enjoy our collaborations!

I will leave with this last picture from my 18th anniversary date with the hubby. We went to a winery for the afternoon and found this fun butterfly bench on our way back. Great photo op that could not be passed up!

Have a wonderful weekend! Come back on Sunday for the March Sunday Showcase where Ada and I are showing how we transition our wardrobe for spring.

A bientôt!

Congratulations and to many more years! I read your blog because you are a real woman! And you show what you actually wear and not those women who look totally different irl!

Congrats on your anniversary! I keep coming back for a variety of reasons.. I think you are genuine and I love reading about you and your family’s adventures, I like how budget conscious you are and the tips you give, plus you have your own unique style.

Thanks, Joanne! I am going to try to share more about budgeting these next few months as I am trying to get back to it!

That is why I follow you too and love to read your Tuesday’s week in review posts: real clothes, real life and to me you being abroad adds another fun twist!

Thanks, Ellie! That is what I try to do: normal person wearing normal clothes and who likes to travel and do so so I try to share how we do that.

Wow, 2 years Congrats! I read your blog because (1) you are “localish” I live in Marietta and enjoy seeing the local hikes and things you do, (2) clothing and budgeting tips (3) I have been transitioning from “professional office attire” for the last few years since I am in more of a manger role for our family business so I don’t do as much client relations/networking/parties… then Covid happened and I work from home fulltime now so I have had a hard time finding inspiration and putting together outfits that are not just yoga pants and t-shirt. You have helped me in a big way find a “new” me clothing style and your IG posts I look forward to daily! Thank you so much for sharing your life!

Very cool Jane! I am in Carterville so usually we end up at Pine Mountain, Red top Mountain and the Etowah mounds because they are so close to home. I do want to do more of the state parks this spring and summer and need to renew my pass. I am so glad to be able to inspire others. I really do have fun getting dressed even if I don’t have many places to go usually (all of this week’s appts were unusual).

Thanks, Rena! I do enjoy it, after 14 years of being a SAHM, it helps to have a create outlet!

Thanks, Michelle! I just wish I had more time to leisurely read all of the blogs I wanted to. I try to catch a least one or two of all of my favorite each week but sometimes I forget.

Thanks, Kathrine! Trying to! I think because that is my favorite kind of bloggers, the ones I can relate to, that is how the direction of my blog has gone.

Happy blog anniversary! This is such an exciting milestone and I am so glad to be a part of it. Like you, I enjoy the community that blogging has brought about. Meeting people like you is why I continue to do it as well. But to answer your question, I come back to your blog because you are an amazing person. I love your style and I can relate to you as well being a fellow mama. Cheers to many many more years of blogging my friend.

Thanks, Maureen! Being a mama of still young ones, I am also drawn to fellow bloggers who still have kids at home.

Hello and congratulations. I think when someone takes the time to write something down, you get a better sense of who they are, unlike Ig which is, to me, some kind of shorthand. You started writing when I was on a very long hiatus (1 1/2 years), but think I stumbled onto one of your organizing posts and liked it enough to come back. Now you are just one of the regulars that I read-just part of my circle.

    • mimifce

I need to get back to those organization posts and budget posts. Thanks for coming back =) I love seeing the things you create: I am always in awe of people who sew and then add their own twists!

Happy anniversary, my new friend. I have just discovered your blog through our mutual friends. But it seems to me that you are very real, very down-to-earth. And I appreciate that about you. It is refreshing and keeps me coming back to get to know you better.

    • mimifce

Thanks, Leslie! I have found that I am definitely drawn to bloggers who are down to earth and share real life and outfits. Thank you for visiting back!

Happy Blog Anniversary, Mireille! I can’t believe that it has only been 2 years. I feel like I have known you for so much longer than that! I keep coming back to your blog for a bunch of reasons, but what primarily drew me here in the first place is that you are real and genuine and kind and share the same passions as I do for family and fashion. While I don’t travel much, I have been wanting to more so I also really enjoy your travel posts as well. I am so grateful to have met you on this journey!

Happy 2 years Mireille!! That is so exciting. I love that butterfly pic, too! One of the reasons I keep reading your blog is because I love hearing about your outfit choices and the ones that didn’t work, too. I find it really helpful to hear why you don’t like certain things and why you do like others, and I absolutely love when you do the ‘inspired by’ posts – they always inspire me to try and copy looks, too! Another reason I love your blog is the budgeting aspect. Since I focus a lot on cost per wear in my own life, I really appreciate seeing other bloggers who are also very budget-conscious. I also think your love of blogging is contagious! I really enjoyed this post because I can feel how much you enjoy the journey, and it makes me want to enjoy my own blogging more (I always get so frustrated and feel like I rarely enjoy it sometimes!). Lastly, I follow your blog because of you! I think you are so interesting and kind, and I love reading about your trips, your experiences, etc. You also support my blog so much, so the very least I could do is support you in return. I am so grateful to have gotten to know you in this space!! <3

    Miles of smiles,
