Sunrises at the Beach: the Beauty of the Golf

We have been to beaches in a number of places and countries (but no tropical island) and I have found that the Gulf of Mexico has some of the prettiest beach I have seen so far. I haven’t been to Hawaii nor the coast up North but we have been to California (around Malibu and Santa Monica), Long Island, the Atlantic Ocean by St. Augustine in Florida, the Mediterarneen in France and Italy and Spain. So far, the only the most comparable and might I say more beautiful in my eyes maybe was the Costa Brava in Spain. All this to say, that we love the gulf!

The sand is pretty and clean, the water is crystal clear and blue most of the year. We are grateful that we have had just a few times over the year when there was algae or jellyfish and that was quite a few years ago.

This year, I made the effort to get out of the condo and walk to the beach with my morning coffee without children to enjoy the beauty of the sun still rising. I only made it once close to sunrise but usually got the tail end of it since I was getting out there around 6:15-6:30.

Most morning I took a short walk on the beach and we had beautiful weather and mostly calm seas. It might not be as picturesque but it was still pretty.

Getting on the beach earlier means you see prettier colors and golden light and if there are a few clouds it makes for an even prettier sight.

This was the prettiest sunrise! I thought it was beautiful in the first picture but once the sun broke through those clouds, I was in awe. What a wonderful way to start each morning on vacation!

These last two pictures show how pretty the water is! The sand pipers are really fun to watch as they run on the beach looking for little clams. They are fast!
