#thriftedchicstylechallenge outfits

This week I am participating in a challenge on Instagram called #thriftedchistylechallenge. While I have known about this challenge for a while, I never took the step to participate. So this week is the week! My son has been helping me with my photos so that I do not post just a bunch of selfies and we have been trying to be creative with where we can take our pictures whithout leaving the neighborhood. While they are some cool places in town where I would like to take pictures, bringing my 4 boys with me would not be conducive to a smooth photoshoot. But as we learn, we will become more creative. Thanks for your patience with our amateur shots.

Here are my outfits for the week. My favorite is this one and I really need to wear this white denim jacket more often. I probably only wear it once or twice a year! My sister in law bought the shirt at Goodwill and then handed it down to me. The jacket I found at Plato’s closet.

Now we were trying to be more creative with the following outfit and tried to take some shots of me jumping on the trampoline. I saved some of the funniest pictures for a blooper post at some point. Both the shirt and the purse were thrifted.

The next combination was the most comfortable outfit. I love these joggers and while they were not thrifted, I bought them this year at JCPenney for $15! The gray short sleeve sweater was $2 and is a little fancy with silver thread throughout so I dressed it down with the joggers and sneakers. It is from Loft. Always be on the lookout for brands while thrift shopping. You might discover some gems! And items with new tags too!

This challenge made me realize that what I usually buy at thrift stores are tops, skirts or jackets. The following outfit features a thrifted workout shirt (my only long sleeve one) and a jacket. I really like the length of the purple top because it keeps you covered when you wear workout leggings. That day of shopping was a success! The items were $2.25 each. Everything I bought that day was either grey or purple, lol.

Lastly, this dress and white jacket (again). This will probably be my Easter/Pascha outfit this year. I usually try to wear something festive and mostly white. If it is cold I will wear it with boots but if it is warm, sandals it will be.

I hope you enjoyed the styling of my thrifted items today. If you are selective, thrifting can be a fun and rewarding experience and easy on your budget as long as you do it in moderation.

A bientôt!
