Fun with Friends
I made time for friends the last couple of months, so I am sharing some of those moments here today. With our busy lives, sometimes it is hard to get together, but I love that we try to make time for each other. We become each other support systems, lend an ear, run a mile or seven, eat, laugh and cry together. I am very thankful for my friends. It doesn’t matter how we met, but how we keep connected and grow in our friendships. Running Friends The group looks different every Saturday depending at what time we run and everyone’s family schedule, but most weeks, I run on Saturday…

Little Dresses for Many Occasions
With end of year events for the kids and some social outings for me, I thought it would be fun to wear some of my shorter dresses for these occasions and today, I am sharing a recap of those outfits with you. While a little black dress or a little white dress is a classic in everyone’s wardrobe, having a variety of dresses to wear for a dinner out or a school occasion creates some variety. Tennis Banquet I love red with turquoise and I have done the combo before with this dress, but using different accessories, so they was not a new idea, but was a great combo. Dresses…

Yellow for Spring: Daily Outfits
When I realized that yellow was a color that I wore a lot in the spring, I decided to do a round up of the outfits I wore. It appears that I like to combine yellow with blue a lot! These are all outfits I wore this spring. Here’s a perfect example of how I like to wear yellow. I played around with this thrifted sleeveless top and decided to be the boss of my clothes like Jodie always inspires us, and layered a shirt under. Since the sleeves usually give me a problem with not staying up, I used my Maggie Snaps (I think she went out of business),…

SCAD Fashion Museum, Atlanta
A few weeks ago, Kathrine (from Kathrine Eldridge blog) and I met up when she came to Atlanta to visit her son who is studying here for his Master’s degree. We met earlier in the fall and when I saw an ad for the SCAD Fashion Museum, I thought it would be a fun outing for us since it was near where she was staying. SCAD stands for the Savannah College of Art and Design and they have a campus in downtown Atlanta. The museum is located at the top of the building and the admission fee was $10 with free parking (which is a definite plus in downtown Atlanta!).…

Inspired Style: Exploring Layered Belts and Texture
Last month, Jodie shared a post with 10 different inspired street styles in a blog post. She demonstrated how you didn’t have to copycat a look to create a look that is still inspired by a picture. You can look at the textures used, the color combinations, or just one part of an outfit. I really enjoyed her post and reached out to see if she wanted to collaborate on a similar post and she sent me this inspiration picture. So we used this picture to create some looks. Here is her post! The first thing I noticed in the picture was the layered obi belt with the pearls. That…

Scarves: Unique Ways to Wear them with the Ageless Style Link Up
Today, the Ageless style ladies are sharing spring scarves. I have worn a lot of scarves over the years, some years more than others, and for a while I wore infinity scarves when they were popular. I still have them, but seldom wear them anymore. Last fall, I shared some modern scarf outfits after having thrifted a few square scarves in (this post), and today, I wanted to continue to inspire you to wear your necks carves and silk scarves in a fresh new way. Scarf with a necklace I think this was my favorite way to style a scarf in that last post. In that one, I used a…

Picnic Pouch: Ready for a Picnic at any Moment
As you can tell from my recent posts, I enjoy picnics! And apart from when we travel as a family, my picnics are usually solo picnics. So, a week or so ago, as I ate by the river and realized I had forgotten to pack a napkin, I decided I need to create a little picnic pouch where I would keep picnic essentials that I could throw in my basket or bag at a moment’s notice. If you have missed those two recent posts, here they are: Be A Joy Seeker and What to Wear on a Picnic. This last picnic was a last minute one as the week had…

What to Wear on a Picnic
There is no right or wrong for what to wear on a picnic, and I have worn dresses, flowy pants and denim to eat outdoors in the past. For today’s post, I took inspiration from a picture on Pinterest that featured a neutral outfit similar to the one I am sharing today. I have several baskets and a tote that I use for picnics, but today, I wanted to use this wicker picnic basket I found at an antique shop last year. It took me about a year of searching to find one in the price range I wanted: I did not want to spend $40 for something I would…

Denim Jacket Alternative with Maxi Dress
When I originally planned my outfit for the botanical gardens earlier in April, I planned to wear a navy denim jacket with this dress. However, after reading Jodie’s post that week, I decided to change it up and wear this cardigan wrap my bestie made me on my visit to France in 2019. I love this wrap with its unique fabric, stretch and flow. The wrap was the inspiration for the accessories which were all in the tan family. The rose pendant necklace was a hand me down from my aunt and the feather leather earrings were a gift from my mom. This tote from Amazon is great for trips…

Be a Joy Seeker: A Picnic a Week
A few weeks ago, Charlotte from Vivi and Margot (here is her IG) shared the word joy seeker in one of her posts, talking about the small joys in life. I promptly adopted that word to describe those moments during the day when I try to pause and just soak up the joy of the small things that bring me pleasure. One of those things is having a weekly (or almost weekly) picnic. I enjoy being outdoors and eating outdoors and having a beautiful scene to look at while I eat is a bonus. It helps me relax and recharge. One of the places I like to go to is…
