What I wore in Spain and France

The only time I wore the sneakers. I figured out how to wear my money belt without it showing the next day, lol. While comfy this is not the most stylish shirt!

Since I have started writing this blog, I have been paying more attention to what people wear. I was somewhat surprised to find that in my opinion people were more fashionable in Spain than in France. That might be because of where in Spain and France we were. We were in a nice hotel in Spain and visited pretty coastal towns where there were tourists from France and different part of Spain. In France we were in smaller towns/villages and I did notice more stylish clothes in Paris. I only saw white pants in touristy places a handful of time and never wore the pair I brought. Everything else I brought I wore at least once. I probably could have left one of my two dresses home as well as my Nike tanjun sneakers that I only wore on the trip over.

I wore this outfit while visiting Girona and later that day in Calella de Palagruell. The scarf started around my neck, then I attached to my purse when it became hot and then again was a source of warmth. I love everything about this outfit. My peasant blouse is old as well as my comfy wit and wisdom jeans. My new Jambu shoes took a day to break in and after giving my feet a day’s rest, I was able to wear them with great comfort. They were my most worn shoes as you will see in my pictures and I could have just brought those shoes on the trip and have been happy. Pretty with pants and dresses. I love them!

My second most worn accessory was my son! You will see him hanging on my back in many of my pictures. For those interested, I wear him in a Ergo carrier, the classic one. This is my second one and have found it very practical on trips like these. The second item that I was so happy to have chosen on this trip is my small haiku crossbody purse which was gifted to me by a friend 7-8 years ago. I was perfect for my phone, passport and small wallet.

I wore this outfit twice, once for a day visiting a market and beach in the south of France and once traveling from the South of France to the North of France. This is one of my favorite thrifted shirt. I really like that first picture of me eating a crepe with nutella: I feel like it takes 10 years off! What a little special snack can do, lol!

This is probably my favorite picture from the whole trip: such a pretty place! Would love to come back and spend a week for my 20th anniversary. Our hotel was only 20 minutes from this beach.

My madewell sandals were also quite comfortable to walk in. On this day we toured the remparts in the medieval town of Villefranche de Conflent in the South of France. I haven’t worn this shirt much but I should. It is very versatile and adding a scarf elevated the look.

Yum, French baguette! While visiting my friend in the small village of Mortcerf (an hour from Paris) I walked up to the boulangerie (bread and pastry store) most mornings for some fresh baguettes and tasty croissants, pains au chocolat and pain aux raisins. Thankfully, I walked off those treats every day with our walking! I only wore this pink peasant blouse once but did enjoy adding my ball earrings with it. This was the day we visited two animal parks, the Parc des Felins (feline park) and the Terre des Singes (monkey land). I will share that fun day in a coming post.

Provins and Paris. Love having my scarves to add flair to my outfits! It was chilly in Paris so I wore my denim jacket. Since we were going to church as we arrived in Paris, I wore a dress and knotted it so it would not drag as we traveled on train, subway and bus all over town. I felt quite safe with my crossbody purse and did leave our passports at my friend’s house. I kept my phone on the inside of my purse while not using it and only once did we have some guys looking at us strangely when I had it in my hand coming out of the subway so I put it away.

I took my jacket off for this picture at Fontainebleau. It was a rainy and chilly day so our outing visiting the castle was perfect. It stopped raining long enough for us to take pictures on the stairs. I bought this shirt in a open air market in the south of France and I love it! The sleeves are short enough that they are not too bothersome in the kitchen!

This is my last day’s outfit. You can tell by my tired eyes that I now need a vacation from my vacation! This pretty cardigan wrap was made by my friend Veronique @jolikrea as an early birthday present for me and I will be writing a whole post about it showing how it can be worn. I did take more pictures that day but I was too tired to do a great job showing the versatility of the cardigan so I will take more soon! It is perfect for wearing most of the year here in the south of the US.

I hope you enjoyed my real life outfits and the pretty scenery and locations. On Wednesday, I will continue our journey in Catalunya, Spain!
