Friday Ramblings
Today, I am sharing a mish mash of some of my recent thoughts.
Budget by Paycheck Workbook
My friend tuned me in to the Budget Mom when she tagged me in a giveaway and I am hooked! I always have enjoyed working with my budget to find ways to save but go back and forth with really keeping track of where my money goes. The workbook/planner helps you budget by your paycheck whether that is once a week, biweekly or monthly. By keeping track of where your money goes, you can make adjustements to your categories, assign money to savings or to your debt. Thankfully the only debt we have right now is an orthodontist payment that is a interest free monthly payment. So I am using the workbook to help me put money in our savings account and in our vacation savings account. Head to her IG page as well as look her up on you tube! She has great videos showing how to use the workbook, sharing her journey and tips to help you pay your debt and save.
Exercising
I am struggling with being consistent with exercising but I did add some weight training in my routine. It had been 2 and half years since I had done any weight training. We have a gym membership and I have been only using the treadmill and the elliptical machine. I now do a circuit in the women only section trying to do 3 reps of 10 on each machine! I also struggle with my water intake so I was very happy with my soccer kids gifting me a 40 oz hydroflask bottle: a new bottle is always a fun incentive to drink.
Thanksgiving break
I am ready for a break from our routine. While we did spend a weekend at the lake earlier in October, since I was more stressed and cranky than anything, it did not feel like a vacation. We are spending Thanksgiving break at the beach with my sisters in law and the niece and nephew. I am looking forward to getting away. I will be taking a week long break from blogging and linking up, my first break since I started blogging in March. I still will be posting on IG but I am looking forward to just enjoying the sand and hopefully sun.
Clothes shopping
While I am by no means starting another shopping fast, I am hoping to work on making thoughtful decisions about what I am purchasing this month. I need to concentrate on shopping for the kids’ Christmas gifts instead of buying for myself. I do want the Old Navy vest in mustard but otherwise do not see myself purchasing anything. My soccer kids also gifted me a couple Amazon giftcards and I ordered some long sleeve tee and an oversized sweater: all set for November!

Sounds like you set some reasonable, doable and meaningful goals – good luck with them!! I’ve been learning to just surrender and that’s been interesting for me … hope you enjoy your time away from the hustle and bustle and that you have a nice weekend!

I’ve been working on Christmas shopping lately too. I am the only mom I know that waits to buy her kids gifts last but for some reason I always start on the rest of the family first.

My kids are easier to shop than my hubby!

Very good thing we should keep our budget in mind

I try to!

Your Thanksgiving beach vacation sounds wonderful. I recently got back into exercising and have seen wonderful results. Weight training especially helps! Good luck.

Hoping to go twice for weight training this week. Only once last week but exercised 4 days. I ended up rock climbing with the kids on the weekend and that got some muscles working too!

The workbook sounds great! thanks for sharing it! 🙂
It’s nice you have a trip booked to look forward to as well, it can be hectic around Christmas!
I’ve been having so much fun Christmas shopping – usually I’ve finished by November but I still have a few last minute things to get and all my budget has gone to gifts. Except a couple of small sale buys right at the start of the month, ha! I’ve been enjoying shopping for others mostly 🙂
Hope that you are having a great weekend! We went for our annual family Christmas photo with Santa yesterday, with two kids and a dog it didn’t quite go as planned, ha!

That would be an adventure for the Santa pics! We had a fun quieter weekend so it was nice! Making a list of what I still need to buy for gifts. Got a few things online this weekend.
