What is my signature style?

After I read a couple blog posts about signature styles, I decided to think about what constitute my personal or signature style. I asked myself a couple of questions: what items do I add no matter my outfit? Which pieces of clothing do I reach for? Which things to I feel tempted to buy? What do I like most in my outfits? Here are my conclusions:

Statement Earrings

It is rare that you will see be out and about without a pair of statement earrings and most often than not, it will be a pair of Nickel and Suede earrings. It used to be that I would only wear studs because other earrings would pull on my earlobes but once I found these wonderful earrings, I was sold. I have found other light weight large earrings that I enjoy and another favorite is the pair my mom gave me this past Christmas.

This colorful feather/leaf earrigns is the pair gifted by my mom. I even wear my earrings when I ride my bike or go for walks unless it is really windy.

Fun Shoes

They can be cheap like my very loved Walmart white and leopard sneakers or more higher end like my Linea Paolo camo wedge sneakers above. I found that I reach for these types of shoes a lot. I do sometimes wear them with skirts but I am still more comfortable wearing sandals, booties or boots with my dresses and skirts.

Classic with a Twist

I do not wear super trendy clothes but I like simple pieces with a twist: the twist could be a trendy pattern, a fun detail or element or a fun color. I also have added several graphic tees to my collection lately and I am really like those. I mostly wear skinny jeans or pants in the winter and the summer sees me pairing shorts with fun tees. For some variety I like to add skirts or dresses in there but mostly skirts as I find them to fit well.

The above fun tee is an example of the types of tops I like to get. I actually have another similar one in purple.

This is another example of the kinds of tees I like to find: fun sparkly graphic and its hard to tell but there is gathering at the hips which give a really nice fit.

You won’t see me wearing anything too crazy but I am willing to try something new. I like to find new combinations when I read fashion blogs or on Instagram and see if I can recreate them with things I already have (or sometimes I just have to get it). My favorite stores to shop at for my tees are Ross and TJMaxx, when I want something more particular, I find myself shopping at Nordstrom especially if it was recommended by someone. And of course, there is always that occasional Target trip where I come home with some fun finds.

My favorite outfit of all time is a lot of people’s favorite and I need to wear it again: might wear it for Orthodox Easter on the 19th! It has fun statement earrings, fun colorful sandals and trendy pattern mixing!

What would you consider your style? What are some things your outfit has to have? This was fun to think about and now I want to go play dress up in my closet!
