Gulf of Mexico: Beautiful Waters

I wanted to dedicate a post to some of the beautiful pictures I took of the sunsets and the beach during our vacation along the Gulf of Mexico in Florida for Thanksgiving. We were blessed to arrive just a little bit before the sunset set on our first day and it was the most magnificent sunset of our vacation.

My son actually took this particular picture and I love how the sun reflect on the water and the breaking wave. I usually wake up early to walk on the beach but I didn’t sleep the best on this vacation (I blame the pillows and not being used to a king size bed) so sunsets had to suffice.

On this particular evening, I thought that the clouds would obscure the sunset but it turned out perfect giving dimension to the sky. I was able to leave the boys at the condo a few of the late afternoons to enjoy the beauty on my own.

What I love about spending time at the beach is that some of the best activities do not cost a thing as they are just enjoyment of nature. The boys really enjoyed walking on the beach at night looking for crabs and digging in the sand is just the best past time!

I love this picture of my husband. One of the reason that we are still vacationing (carefully) during these times is that my husband works hard to provide for our family and taking time away is very important to recharge one’s batteries.

We typically always visit the beach on the Gulf because of how clear the water is (if you go at the right time of the year) and how soft and white the sand is. It is just gorgeous.

We were blessed with great mild weather until our last day and calm waters for most of the trip. The first few days, the water was so calm!

Look at that water! We have come when there were jelly fish or seaweed but not this go around! Fall months are really usually good for clear waters we have found.

We didn’t see any dolphins this time probably because we didn’t come out early enough but late afternoon was a great time to see some rays come close to shore!

Then midweek, I met Gentry’s aunt from Girlmeetsbow on the beach and she offered us the use of her umbrella and chairs the day they left. We felt like kings! It was such a fun meeting and it felt like a small world!

There are no 2 days that the ocean is alike and I love the many facets of the ocean. Calm, stormy, clear, cloudy…

The last day playing on the beach, the waves were large, the horizon misty and foggy but that did not keep everyone from having fun!

Hope you enjoyed this little slideshow of the beach! Until next year!
