Friday Favorites
It has been a while since I did a post about some Friday favorites. Today, I wanted to share some Christmas gifts that I really enjoyed.
Echo Dots
I had heard of echo dots but hadn’t really thought about how they could be useful in my house. My husband surprised me with two of them and at first I looked at him confused about how these were a good present for me. He then explained how apart from being used for music and other things, they could be used as intercoms. We have a true 3 story house and my teen’s room is on the top floor. I spend a lot of time calling/texting himt to come down for dinner or breakfast as well as to tell it is time to go outside or to leave for school. He typically has his phone on silent so he doesn’t answer and I yell up the house then to get his attention but he can’t always here. With the echo, that problem is solved. We’ve had them for a week and I love them!
Kids Play Kitchen Sink
This kids play kitchen sink was my 3 year old’s favorite’s gift. It is a really cool toy that recirculates water so it really works like a real sink! It provides hours of fun which is great for mamas. It will be great outside once the weather warms up but until then I have it on plastic tray on some towels so we don’t ruin our floors with the water that does splash out.
It didn’t hurt that I bought it when it was on sale for $10 off!
Lindt Chocolates: Pyreeneens
I grew up in a village in the south of France near Oloron Sainte Marie where these delicious chocolates are made. For the past couple of years, my best friend has sent me some for Christmas. They are delicious. This year, she found them in chocolate bar form. You store them in the fridge and they melt in your mouth. The bar from has the same taste but I would say it doesn’t feel as smooth in your mouth. It definitely is not cheap to order them in the US at $22 a box! I could not find the bar form online but my friend did say it was new in France.
Hope you enjoyed my favorites! I always enjoy seeing what others have found and purchased. By the way, shopping my closet has been really fun lately! Planning my oufits in advance continues to curb my enthusiam for shopping!

Really interesting post and I love the idea of the play sink with circulating water. I have a new grandson and that’s an idea I shall keep in mind for him in a couple of years time.
And yes, chocolate originating from Europe is amazing. Years ago I worked in Switzerland for 18 months and I remember how amazing Lindt chocolate was.
Have a lovely weekend, Mireille 🙂

Thanks, Penny! That sink has been so fun and finding it on sale was exciting. Tonight, he said he had to wash his dishes before he went up! I am too lazy to finish washing mine so here I am on the computer.

The chocolates look delicious! I love Lindt but am not familiar with this one. International food is so expensive to order here, but sometimes worth it! Currently still waiting on a package from my brother from Germany, it’s soooo delayed and at this point I don’t think it will ever arrive 🙁

Wow! I was so surprised how fast my friend’s package came: she send it thru Fedex: 2 days! I was flabbergasted! The chocolate usually is out around Christmas. I remember it from when I was a kid, more thatn 35 years ago! (wow that makes me old)

What a great idea for the echo dots!! Can you believe my mom got an Alexa for Christmas from a friend and she uses it to play the radio for her. Cute, right??
Have a great weekend,

I can really see how the Echo Dots are helpful in a 3 story house! The sink looks like a fun toy. And the chocolates sound exquisite.

I gave my husband a Dot for Christmas and we have really had fun with it. Alexa tells us the joke of the day, a trivia question a day, plays our favorite songs, and serves as our weather man and wake up call. I just feel badly because we kind of bark orders at her. Wish we had to say ‘please’ before she would respond!

Lol! I have to ask for the joke of the day and the trivia question. My oldest will probably like that!

That echo thing sounds like something I could use. I’m always having to search for my husband in our 3 story home.

I am loving it! Instead of yelling up all the time and not always being heard, this is a life saver. You have to have 2 to use it as an intercom but they were on sale so a win win!

The Lindt look lovely! I have never seen it in bar form either before but I do adore the chocolate Lindt balls! 🙂
Hope that you had a great weekend 🙂

Thanks, Mica! It was very nice! Enjoying the extra day off today. Then back to all the things tomorrow. I need to take my trees down today!

We have Alexa and an Echo Dot and love them for playing music, adding to our grocery list, getting the weather forecast. You can also send it a message or alert. I’m sure there are even more uses we haven’t discovered yet.

I know! My son was so much faster than I would have been setting it up!

Fun post, Mireille! I laughed out loud about you yelling up the steps to the third floor! I totally scream throughout my house all the time! Maybe I need an Echo, too! Although my house is small enough that if you yell in the farthest corner, you will be heard in the opposite farthest corner. I get annoyed with my kids when they are too scared to be on a different floor from me because you can literally have conversations through the floors, walls, and vents! And I’ll take some Lindt chocolates, please, any flavor will do! Thanks for linking.

The middle boys are the same: they want to go to the 2nd floor together.
