Tennessee Aquarium: February Visit
After our last visit to the Tenneesee Aquarium during the Christmas break, I told the boys we would take their cousin on our next visit and try to visit a few more times before our membership expires at the end of May. We just made good on that promise this past President’s day. Chattanooga is just 1 hour and 30 or so from our house so it is not a bad drive. This time around, the return trips wasn’t as fun. It rained consistently and heavily for about 45 minutes and I was also dropping my nephew home which added an hour and half total to our ride. It still was a fun trip and we came home with some new favorites!
Octopus
There are two at the aquarium and while one was snoozing, the other put on a show for us! It was really fun to see him stretch out his tentacles and move around.
He did move quickly so it was hard to take a picture without a blur especially with the glass and reflection.
Lionfish
Each time we visit, a different sea creature or animal becomes a top favorite. Watching the lion fish move slowly in his tank, very elegant and majestic brought him to first place on this trip.
Lemur
Ah, lemurs! The lemurs always remind me of our visit to the Parc des Singes in France where the lemurs walked freely on this island. One really enjoyed my youngest stroller and came very close to us! Here is the blog post of that visit!
Chameleon
This little feller was really neat to observe. I would love to actually see a chameleon change colors in real life one day. Nonetheless, I love his coloring, his eye that can rotate in all directions and his tail that wraps itself around the branch.
Meeting animals face to face
One of the things that I like about this aquarium is the ability to get close to the animals. This little alligator was immobile as a statue so it was fun to observe him close up.
It is possible to get close to all of the tanks and it is not usually crowded so we often take the time to enjoy our favorite creatures and spots.
The touch and feel pool with the sharks and rays is always fun. We always make sure to have enough time to spend there.
Hope you enjoyed this little visit to the aquarium!
A bientôt!

That’s a bummer when the weather makes the drive harder Mireille. At least you made it home safe.
What a collection of animals at the aquarium…I would never expect the lemur especially!!

What a fun place to visit! So many interesting creatures. I am totally fascinated by octopuses. Aren’t the lemurs’ tails so cool?

It is pretty neat what both of them can do with their limbs (because I am counting that tail as a limb!)
