10 on the 10th (or 12th for me) Spring Edition

I read Carrie’s post (A Simple Lovely Life) mentioning Leslie’s (Once Upon a Time and Happily Everafter) 10th on the 10th post for Spring. I decided to join in a little belatedly so here I am!

Ten Things I Like About Spring

  • My first one has to be dinner on the porch! As spring approaches, and before then since are weather has been pleasant and mild in the evenings, I love to take out dinner on the porch!
  • Open windows! Fresh air in the house is so pleasant. I really would like to add a screen door to our side porch as we tend to leave that door open and flies/moths and other insects like to make their way in.
  • HIkes: as soon as the cold disappears I like to encourage our family to get outdoors and we enjoy hiking especially if snacks are involved!

  • Wearing my light layers! There is only a small window of time when it is not too hot for denim jackets and kimonos so I take advantage of the early spring months to rotate all of mine and wear them.

  • Usually there are less colds and germs to spread around! However as I am writing this, one of my boys is quarantined not for being sick but for being in close contact with a child who tested positive. Praying no germs were passed on to him!
  • Hummingbirds: my mother in law loves hummingbirds and they are her babies. She usually sets up 4 feeders by the kitchen window and makes sure they are constantly filled. We usually can see at least a dozen out at a time at peak season.
  • Summer is in sight: no school, no schedules, pool time, road trips are things that I look forward to in a few months.
  • When the weather warms up, I am excited to start wearing skirts and dresses more! I ended up picking a few last year and in February so shopping my closet will be fun!
  • Green grass, blue skies, pretty sunrises and sunsets: spring is when I enjoy taking a moment to enjoy all of those things.

  • In the spring, my children spend a lot more time outside: they come from school and after snack might spend 2 to more hours outdoors.

A bientĂ´t!

Eating outside definitely and meeting up with friends as we can’t do that inside. And cycling! And hearing the birds! Oh don’t you just love spring

I do! I love each of those! I forgot to list cycling probably because we need a new bicycle rack this year!

I can not wait to eat outside! We’ve already been hiking a lot more but the ice and mud are making it a bit difficult.

We have a small window before mosquitoes. I am going to try to a couple things this year so we can enjoy the outdoors longer.

So many great reasons to love spring!! I can’t wait!
We had very spring like weather last weekend and I decided that we should go hiking. Well, the trails were still covered in snow mixed with mud which made for very slippery trails. Not a good idea and we only hiked a short trail.

I have one hummingbird feeder and always enjoy seeing them come by! Such fascinating little birds!!

You know I love that kimono, and I like how you layered it there! 🙂

Spring is a nice season, it’s always good when it warms up a bit after winter and spring and autumn are great here as they don’t get as hot and humid as summer! 🙂

Hope you are having a good weekend 🙂

We have a small window of time before it gets hot and humid here! I plan to take advantage of it!

The only reason it is not my favorite season is that true spring weather doesn’t last long before it turns hot and the bugs arrive!

Such a wonderful idea. After the Winter we’ve had, yes to Spring and the songbirds coming out. But #1 Springtime for me is the first time I hear the Peepers come out at night. Then I know Spring is really on the way. Take care, Terri

I enjoyed a nice breakfast outside this morning! I had to have socks and a cardigan but it was pleasant!

These are the same things that I love about the arrival of spring, Mireille! I was able to sit on my front porch for a bit yesterday and the fresh air was so energizing. It is still a bit too cold and rainy here for extended time outdoors, but it will be in the 60’s next week so I am very excited to shed some of my winter layers! By the way, I really love your kimono outfit and that adorable picture under the tree.
