Scottsdale, Arizona: the Flora at the Meridian Condo Resort
On our weekend trip to Scottsdale, AZ, we found that it was cheaper and more comfortable to rent a 3 bedroom condo at this condo complex instead of staying at a hotel especially that we were out of hotel points and our family of 6 needs two rooms. The condos at the Meridian Condo Resort have access to several pools and the landscape is very pretty and for someone from the south, very appealing and exciting: cacti everywhere, pretty bushes and flowers and an abundance of rabbits! We also saw quails daily as well as some desert iguanas. We really enjoyed our stay there.
The views of the sunrise were beautiful as the condos are near the hills. There was also a trail that we walked one morning that I will share soon as well as a desert preserve less than two miles away.
You could tell that we were tourists as I kept taking pictures of cacti. I was also surprised by the pretty bushes and blooms!
How gorgeous is the peacock flower! These bushes were planted by the pool area.
We took our morning walks around 5 AM as it was cooler then: a balmy 88 degrees! Again, I wish I had brought a pair of sneakers but since we mostly walked on paved roads, it was fine.
Beautiful bougainvillea too! It was funny because the pool felt like bath water so after a quick dip, I just went around and took pictures. We went early and left around 1o.
My son taught me how to search for the names of plants and I found that this is oleander. All you have to do is click on your pictures, tap the share button then select the google button and it will tell you what you have taken a picture of: very practical!
Come back on Friday for an overload of cacti pictures!
A bientôt!

The Arizona desert is so lush compared to Nevada. I’m always amazed each time I visit. Thanks for the Google plant ID tip!
We are in North Carolina now, and I’m amazed at these beautiful forests.

These are beautiful photos! I love cacti too and can’t get enough. So I also didn’t know that you can just google what type of plant you are looking at with just a tap on your phone! I must try! Then again my phone is so old, we shall see if it can handle it! Ha!
