Christmas Tour 2021
Ada (Elegance and Mommyhood) asked me to join her with her Thursday Moda Link Up Christmas Tour special edition! Make sure to visit her blog and see how beautiful her decor is! My decor in comparison is probably very simple since I went a little minimal this year, getting rid of some things that were not my style anymore and just adding a few things. She has some very whimsical ornaments and beautiful trees for different rooms. While the boys do have trees in their room and little villages, today, I am sharing the main living areas as well as our Nativity scenes which I collect.
We’ve been putting up our tree in the same corner each year as it is out of the way but the first thing you see coming in the house, going down the stairs and from the kitchen. There is no theme to our ornaments, they are either handmade at school from the kids or gifts and special ones we have collected over the year. I did buy a new tree top star this year and a new skirt, both burlap and am loving their simplicity.
I like to wrap the presents in just one kind of wrapping paper to give more uniformity. By the way, I do not particularly enjoy wrapping presents so the more presents I wrap the messier the wrapping becomes! The boys all have snowmen stockings but this year I couldn’t remember whose was whose so we might have some musical stockings going on!
This is my new manger scene that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. The stable part reminded me of the ones from France. I would like to find a pretty wooden set one year but I haven’t found what I want yet. This one, I don’t mind the kids playing with since it was inexpensive.
Our cocoa bar made in to the corner of the kitchen on my favorite piece of furniture this year. It is used several times a week so it is not a perfect display! We have special cups, sprinkles, marshmallows and candy canes. This is one of the boys’ favorite things to do in December: have hot cocoa!
This little buffet in the dining room usually has a few seasonal decorations. My 7 year old made the stone nativity scene this year and I love putting different things in those pottery cups.
Behind the couch we have another buffet (that needs to be dusted, oops!) with a French santon nativity scene and some decor found at Target and Kroger. Who would have guessed Kroger would have such cute Christmas decor. The truck and the deer below are from Kroger, several years back!
The lights on the mantel stay there all year round. Here are a few of our nativity scenes. The clay one is from Italy and is about 13 years old now. The cloth one is perfect for kids to play with.
Even my tiered tray on the the dining table is simple. I move it each time we eat there so I cannot have too much on it and do like prefer more of a minimalist look.
I hope you enjoyed my small tour and don’t forget to visit Ada’s fabulous Holiday Home tour! Here is a another little peek of her decor!

I think your home looks lovely! I only put out about 2/3 of our decorations this year and have some ides for switching things up next year already.

I absolutely adore that stone nativity your son made. It’s so simple and yet so creative. I keep some things the same (I even take pictures) and change out others. I’m afraid I am not minimalist in Christmas decorating at all.
Have a wonderful and blessed holiday season, Mireille!

Oh Mireille, it is all so pretty! Your home looks so festive and inviting and warm! I love that you use all the same wrapping paper to keep it uniform! I always use the same wrapping paper for each person but I make sure they coordinate. Although this year I got lazy and used up all the left over paper I have had from Christmases past!
I hope you had a fabulous holiday!

I like the idea of different paper for different people too as I got the stockings mixed up this year and it was all confusing with kids with wrong presents.

I like your idea too as we got the stockings mixed up and it was pretty confusing!
