Atlanta Botanical Gardens: Orchid Craze 2023
On a cold day, the perfect place to be at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens is the orchid pavilion. Even better is during the orchid craze because there is such a variety of orchids displayed. This usually happens during the month of March and April. Today, I am sharing my favorite pictures of this year’s display.
There are several ways to enter the area where the orchids are displayed, but my favorite is through the rainforest area because of this newly painted archway. I inadvertently matched it with my yellow sweatshirt and the pink and purples in my scarf.
There are many areas perfect for taking pictures! This one mural is really fun and the displays in this area are just vibrant with color.
These were some of my favorites: they really made me think of spiders. I am always in awe of the intricacy of orchids, the variety in color and shapes.
Aren’t these pink/purple ones beautiful? I was so glad my phone pictures show how gorgeous these are. I am glad I took pictures this time because next visit, I can just enjoy the flowers and not have to have my phone out.
My brother and his family will be visiting in a couple of days and I cannot wait. He has two daughters and a little boy on the way and it is going to be so much fun to visit with them. We will be coming here and having a picnic at Piedmont Park.
I am not a scent person though and some of these were very fragrant. I do not think I would want to spend too much time in here. Some of them were pretty heady.
Look at the details: the ruffled edge on the left and the stems are so long for the variety on the right. We have an orchid plant that has survived at the house and is currently blooming. The trick to watering the ones at home is to add an ice cube or two once a week.
I hope you enjoyed these beautiful blooms!
A bientôt!

I am not great with flowers and plants so it’s nice to see how beautiful they can be.

Gorgeous! I love the pink/purple ones with the rounded edges. I hear you when you say you’re glad your photos turned out so next time you can just experience them without photographing. I really enjoy taking the photographs but it’s nice to just exist in the moment sometimes too!

For sure!

What a beautiful entry way, and you look so gorgeous in it! I love to look at orchids, but I don’t have any desire to ever try to grow them. Our local art museum has gardens attached to it, but I don’t think the orchids are on display yet. I’ll have to check that out! Thanks for sharing the photos, Mireille! I invite you to link up Thursday and Friday!

I could not love this anymore. It looks like spring and even through the screen it makes me happy and hopeful. It’s truly beautiful and how wonderful that you get to experience it. As I’ve gotten older I’ve really began to appreciate and also have a desire to fill my home and outdoor space with flowers and pretty shrubs. I know when we are at Disney, Epcot is having their floral festival and I am so looking forward to being surrounded by natural beauty.

Oh, that is going to be so pretty at Epcot! I actually bought myself a bouquet today, the first time is half a year. It really brightens the kitchen!
