Goal Setting: 1st Quarter 2025
I thought that sharing my goals for each quarter and sharing my progress would help me stay accountable. I often give myself some personal goals, but they often fall by the wayside after a month or so. This year, I would like to focus on progress: there are areas that I have already progressed in last year, and I would like to continue to improve in those areas this year. And I guess several of us blogger friends had the same idea so a few of us are sharing our goals/bucket list for winter today such as Joanne, Leslie, Christie and Marsha! I will be dividing my goals in 4 categories and see whether I want to readjust them next quarter!
Blog/IG
- continue to post 3 times a week on blog and focus on budgeting: thrifting, ways to wear one piece, inspired by post
- weekly budget tips on IG and recap them at end of month on blog
- daily OOTD on IG
- Find free things to do around Atlanta for Wed blog posts
Thrifted Outfit will be featured 1/24
Financial
- cash money from tutoring to save
- add 1 more student to tutor (I only have one right now)
- look into what is needed for me to sub next school year at Primary school
- no Amazon unless for home repairs/improvement
- limit credit card use severely
Family
- game night once a week with boys (have fun snacks)
- 1 family outing a month (find something fun the boys want to do in the area whether Atlanta or Blue Ridge mtns)
- 1 family hike or bike ride
- 1 date night a month
- finish game room: we are transforming my MIL old bedroom into a poker/game/reading room!
One of our favorite games: Carcassonne
Health
- continue to walk or run 5 days a week
- add 1 arm/ab workout a week (that’s the hard one for me)
- watch my sugars
- make homemade snacks once or twice a week
My Saturday morning Sunrise Running Crew
I have no big bucket list items for this winter as I would like to reset: there are a few trips I would like to take in 2025, but I feel like it makes more sense to wait a little for them, I do not think we will take a vacation on winter break in February.
- Spring Break vacation (TBD)
- June: NY/Long Island
- Weekend in Arizona solo, maybe this summer or birthday month
- Thanksgiving at the beach as per usual
We plan to go to Spain summer 2026, so I would like to start saving for that.
And it’s a link up party, so join in with your goals posts or any other family friendly post you would like to link up!

These are some great goals and intentions! I am trying to plan a few trips for our year too but I’m not sure where I want to go yet and if the boys will want any sort of family vacation (I think they had enough of family time with our latest trip so I figure I’ll wait a few months before asking).

Yes, I think I will feel better about planning after January. It’s hard to plan right after Christmas and beginning of the semester expenses.

You’ve set some good goals, Mireille. I too find that sharing my goals publicly gives me some added motivation. Good luck to you. I look forward to getting to know you better as we cohost this quarterly link-up.

Me too, Christie!

I really like your Family heading. I may need to think family and personal for the next round. Something to ponder. Your Saturday morning group is Huge! Amazing and well done. I should also focus on “core” strength but it’s not a favorite of mine. Lol. Tutoring sounds great. Here you need a Bachelor of Education to substitute teach, do you there as well?

I am not sure.. but I don’t think so. I do have a bachelors in education as well as a master’s in reading and literacy. I haven’t kept up with my teaching certification so I need to check what requirements they have.

I’m always impressed that you post so frequently on Instagram. I should really do an OOTD post. I am lucky to not have to worry about financial things anymore. But, trust me, I remember those days of sitting down and planning out the finances on pay days. Mike planned well for that. We do use two credit cards exclusively because our debit card got hacked. Credit cards give more protection, but we also pay off the complete balance every month.
I think you will easily accomplish these because you’re so structured and mindful, Mireille.

IG is pretty easy for me since I take a picture of my outfit most days (usually a child takes it for me before school or right after, so I don’t usually post them on the day I wear them. I have been trying to share my OOTD in stories though in real time. We pay off the balance on our CC every month too so it is nice to not have debt. I just sometimes need a remember to get back on track and of course there is the occasional month off with the unexpected bills. That is usually when I reset to get back on track. It’s also a way for me to do better at being thrifty: I think we tend to get complacent and spend more when there is no financial struggle so it’s a good exercise in restraint and consuming less.

I hope you achieve all of these goals!!

I think quarterly budgets are a lot easier to manage. And being held accountable is good too: I am looking forward to sharing my progress.

Those sounds like very sensible goals, good luck for you to achieve them! Although good luck is probably not the right word, maybe determination instead?
I don’t set myself goals in that sense. I have a to-do list, but it’s flexible and changeable due to my experiences over the years. Some things I have become pretty good at, like spending or rather not spending thoughtlessly, but even that can get flexible if an expense I hadn’t anticipated makes sense to me.

When you write them out this way, they seem so doable, yet it takes time, eh??

I need to follow your good lead in the finances department. Didn’t really share any of that on my goals. Probably should pencil that in. Think I will. My Amazon card gets paid off and then has a balance again. Grrr. Pledging to use my Rover kitty sitting and sub money to pay it off and keep it that way. I think you will find subbing to be pretty good money. And if you can sub for several of the same teachers in the same one or two schools, that makes it even better.
So appreciate your devotion to family times. Hope you will share some of the games you guys play and the snacks you eat while playing. I want to do one family game night. With cocoa. Hope you will also share progress on your game room. Wonderful that you can turn your MIL’s room into something fun and light that will make the whole family happy. I bet she would love that.
Always enjoy seeing your quick IG posts for OOTD. Glad to see you are going to keep that up. And of course, your great running. My foot just won’t let me think about running yet. May never be able to run again. Boo!! We are back to doing arm workouts and standing abs and now hips, too. I could truly work out all day with all the areas that need improvement.
Off to add finances to my goals! Thanks for the inspo. Thanks for doing a bucket list/goals post with me. XO
