Fun Times on 30A and Destin

While I enjoy spending time on the beach itself, part of the charm of staying on 30A on the Florida Gulf coast is the opportunity to visit the little towns along the county highway. The shops are definitely overpriced (as is the food and everything else) but it is really picturesque and fun to look around. I always budget in an ice cream outing for us and a couple souvenirs. This time, we also had lunch at a little spot in Seaside.

The crepes from this little food truck were a great treat, but it was very busy and the wait was about 30 minutes. Thankfully, the kiddos and their daddy played football on the square.

I can never pass up a good photo op. This nutcracker was so pretty I had to take some pictures here! And then, the tree below called our name too.

30A is mid-point between Destin and Panama City Beach. This year, we went to Destin to go bowling on a rainy day and had lunch at HarborWalk Village.

We ate at East Pass. The food was really good but overpriced. The worst part though was that they added a 20% service fee to your bill, but that did not go directly to your waiter.

I always enjoy seeing the pelicans and the herons on the docks. There were no fish in the water at all. Sometimes you see some (there is food to throw in).

Going to the beach each year is something that we treasure and enjoy. I hope to continue that tradition whether it continues to be at Thanksgiving or earlier in the fall. It is not our most budget friendly vacation, but it is by far the most relaxing.

A bientôt!
