Inspired by Jaymie Ashcraft (navy and olive combo)
Look # 1
Today I am sharing with you 2 outfits featuring olive and navy. Those are not colors that I usually combine but after seeing it on another blogger (Jaymie Ashcraft), I got inspired to see what I could create from my closet. As most of my post, I do not have links for my clothes because most of them are not new and also because my aim is to help you take advantage of what you already own and what you may want to add to your closet to help you create more outfit combinations. Use the colors or the type of clothing as your inspiration just as I did by not copying that blogger’s exact look but by using it as a baseline for your own look.
I have had all of these items except for the shirt in my closet for at least a year. I have two pairs of olive jeans and I like these the most because they are slightly darker than my other pair. They are American Eagle Next Level high waisted jeggings (similar). You have seen these blush Caslon sneakers on the blog before and I used them (similar) as well as my Nickel and Suede earrings to bookend my look.
This Target shirt was somewhat of a surprise for me. I found it on the clearance rack and I wasn’t sure whether it would fit because it was a size XS and it is cropped at the front. I also did not want it to add too much visual weight to my belly area but I was pleasantly surprised. I like it! The green stripes in the shirt tie in with the olive pants.
I really like the 3/4 length of the navy blue jacket. It allows you to wear bracelets that can be seen (oops, I do not have a picture proving that point) and it is not restrictive.
Look # 2
For this second look, I wore my second pair of olive jeans. These are lighter in color and feel more springy to me. Once again I am wearing a pair of Nickel and Suede earrings (gold cork leather). My jean jacket is thrifted, the little unique detail about it is the collar.

I am wearing my Madewell sandals even though it was kind of cold when we took these pictures. I plan to wear them on our trip to Europe so I am trying to see how comfortable they are. My navy shirt is from Old Navy and I got it on clearance last summer when I was looking to add navy to my closet.
I really like this color combo and it makes me realize that I really like to create new outfits with what I have in my closet. I need to make sure to write a quick note when I see a color combination I have not thought of before or pin it on Pinterest!
A bientot!

Thank you! Today I saw teacher at my son’s school that inspired me for a new outfit combo with those jeans. Will try it out this week!

Both really cute casual outfits, Mireille! I like your sandals and jean jacket, and those cork earrings are awesome! Good for you for digging in your closet for remixes of what you already own. I love to shop, but I’m 99% thrift/second-hand – it’s fun to create new outfits out of things you know you love!

I do need to thrift more because I would rather save for vacations then spend it on clothes. Just don’t always have the self control.

Thank you! I have worn it a lot more this year than the last couple of years. It is hard in the south with the weather going from cold to hot and not much cool weather in between.

I love pairing navy with practically everything! Those olive pants look great on you! I’m even wearing my pair today! Great minds!

He I agree that its not an obvious combo. I discovered it a couple of years ago and have worn it and blogged pics so much since. It’s great in the autumn.

I love you style it with clothes from your closet. It’s the real challenge, not to buy new clothes for good styling. Thank you for your friendly comment at tinaspinkfriday Mireille 🙂

You are welcome! Yes, I try not to shop too often because with our 4 boys and our trying to travel, if I spend too much on myself then we won’t go anywhere, lol! I still shop some but try to take advantage of what I already have!

It’s so smart of you to make use of your olive jeans, as it gives an unexpected look from blue jeans. I think blue and green is such a classic combo. I hope your shoes are comfy enough for your travels–sounds exciting!

So far so good on the sandals. Might not be as comfortable as the black ones I also plan to bring but comfy enough I think as long as I do not encounter cobblestone streets! thank you!

Great color combo! I love the olive pants you are wearing. I have a pair of cargo type pants from the Loft I love. I would like a dark olive pair of paperbag waist pants this Spring. Your jacket is lovely and I love those sandals! Cognac brown is so versatile in the spring-summer.
thanks forlinking!
