Packing for France
This is one of two posts dedicated to what I am packing for France. This post will focus on what I am packing for myself while the next one will be about what I am packing for my 4 boys. Next Monday, I will have a post showing some of the outfits that these following items can create.
We will be traveling to France end of May/beginning of June for 2 weeks including our traveling time. We will fly to Barcelona, Spain and travel up north to my friends who live east of Paris with stops on the way to visit other friends. From our past trip in 2013, I have learned to be prepared for cold and rain as well as sunny skies. Therefore, I am bringing a few layers. Since I do like to travel light and plan to fit our clothes, toiletries and gifts in 3 carry on suitcases, I am planning tops and bottoms that can mix and match. As you can see, I am a minimal packer!
Accessories
- 4 pairs of earrings, N&S gold cork, N&S leopard, N&S blush cutouts and 1 pair of leather/pearl earrings
- 3 bracelets to layer
- 3 scarves
- little pouch to hold jewelry
Layers
- Jean jacket
- olive jacket with hood for rain
Shoes
- grey Nike Tanjun sneakers
- leather sandals
- black sandals
2 dresses
Pants
- my favorite jeans: Wit and Wisdom
- white crop pants
- olive joggers
Tops
- pink peasant top
- black peasant top
- black and white striped top
- grey tee
- heather brown tee
- white and red top
Of course undergarments and toiletries, these will fit in one of my packing cubes with my scarves and jewelry.
Here is everything in the cube minus my traveling outfit pictured on the right. This is the large cube: I have 2 sets of cubes and each set includes 2 small (undergarments and pjs are in one), 1 medium and 1 large cube.
Here is everything in packing cubes.
I will show how these fit in the suitcase with my sons clothes in an upcoming post. I believe that the 3 youngest boys clothes fit in the suitcase with mine while my oldest fit with my husband’s. Packing lightly is my specialty!
A bientôt!

I don’t like to lug around lots of luggage when flying. I actually pack a lot more when we go to the beach!

You are a world-class packer – plenty of ways to mix up tops and bottoms for different looks w/o taking your whole closet.

That’s right! And a lot easier to drag in the airport on down a street!

I am swooning over this post as I, too, am a minimal packer. The only one in a sea of “maximum” girlfriends! It just makes life abroad so much easier and nimble. Saving to Pinterest. Hope you have a wonderful trip, can’t wait to hear all about it!

Thank you! Yes, I think we are the minority!

You must be a minimalist. I’m always packing too much. I’m much better now, but still…. I need some improvement here. Great post! Thank you for sharing.

With the 4 kids and the hubby, I have learned to pack less and less so we are not lugging around a house full of things!
