Birmingham Botanical Gardens Part 1
A few weeks ago, the boys and I went to Birmingham for my Goddaughter’s high school graduation party. We had a couple hours of free time between church and the party and I remembered that the Birmingham Botanical Gardens were free. It had been a few years since my last visit and I figured that it being spring would be a great time for a visit. I lived in Birmimgham for 6 years prior to getting married and used to visit occasionnally.
My outfit
Hat: Lanzom wide brim straw Panama hat (Amazon)
Tee: Amazon essentials (Amazon)
Skirt : Goodwill thrifted
Wedge sandals (old, Payless)
Purse: Handmade Round Ata Rattan Bag (Amazon)
Stylish but comfortable
I was quite surprised that I was so comfortable wearing those wedges and walking. Even though it was a warm/hot day, I was perfectly comfortable. It does help that a nice part of the gardens are in the shade.
I was very impressed with my son’s pictures and you will see more of his pictures in part 2 of our visit which focuses on the flowers and plants in the gardens.
I keep my hat in the car so I have it with me whenever I need it and really like the wide brim since it protects both my face and my neck.
One of the boys was exhausted and it was time to leave so we walked through the green house on our way out.
The boys were joking that you could earn 100 points if you sat on the cactus.
A bientôt!

What a fun time, and your son is a budding photographer!! I’m not sure that 100 points is worth it though..LOL!!

Thank you! This last trip thrifting and finding this skirt made me realize that I really need to try thrifting more in order to save more money on clothes. I think my fashion posts will be gearing more towards shopping my closet and thrifting this coming year as I have realized after our trip to France and Spain how much I enjoyed that vacation and to be able to afford more vacations like that I need to be more thrifty!
