Sunshine and Pink Lemonade
This past week I saw a pretty look featured by Karen from Lady in Violet and knew right away I wanted to replicate it with items from my closet. I have seen the pink and yellow combo before but never tried it.
First of all, I love this blouse!!! I love how it flows and while thin it is not see through. The sleeves are fun and not in the way because of their 3/4 length. I love the shade of yellow and stripes, why, yes! Another reason I love if is for sentimental reasons since I bought it on our trip to France this summer. I found it for 15 euros in a village market.
I paired it with my thrifted white cropped pants. I have worn these a lot and really do need to invest in a pair of white denim skinnies but each time that I plan to, something else takes priority or I put myself on a clothing shopping freeze! I also wore two wrap bracelets, one being a Victoria Emerson bracelet I bought on sale at the beginning of summer and the other is a wrap bracelet from Mercy House Global.
Yikes! Wrinkles! I guess I should start a skin regimen but I am too lazy so will just continue smiling and stay out of the sun! That aside, I paired the yellow shirt with my new coral Nova Nickel and Suede earrings that I purchased during their summer sale at the end of July. The coral is more pink than orange and I love how they make a statement paired with the blouse. Like I read on someone’s instagram this week, sunshine and pink lemonade!
No regrets buying these Madewell sandals when they were not on sale but full price, they are holding up wonderfully, are comfortable and really versatile! They are now 50% off at $29.99! I may have to break my shopping fast and instead of thrifting this month buy the black pair!! They are true to size. I am usually a size 6.5 to 7 and wear these in 6 1/2. And yes, I just pressed the add to cart for the black ones. I know that I will wear them as much as these and my only pair of flat black sandals really need to be retired! The hazard of blogging, but I can justify this purchase since I had alloted myself $20 for thrifting. So this is just a little over budget and I will probably wear these sandals more than any other purchase I would have made at the thrift store.
My son and I really like this metal fence and tall grasses as a backdrop for pictures. We found it in the alley that led out of the parking lot from the Coca Cola mural. We are now looking for interesting locations or backdrops for my Monday blog posts and found a couple pretty places we will use over the next few weeks. Some of my pictures from my Missouri outfit blog post made me cringe but they were real life: the mirror shot at the hotel was my last chance to take a picture of that particular outfit (we really should have stopped by the corn fields!) and there were a couple other ones that I did not like either.
I will end with a picture of the side of a delivery truck that we thought would be great for pics if I was brave enought to ask the delivery man if I could jump on the back of the truck that had the same picture on it!
Hope you enjoyed today’s outfit and pictures! Shop your closet to imitate other’s style!
A bientôt!

What a great way to describe the color combo…sunshine and pink lemonade. I just adore pink and yellow together lately!!
As for wrinkles, they are proof that we are living a great life…at least that’s my rationale, LOL

Your pretty combination simply says Summer . You have given me style ideas for when our Summer arrives in a few months. The backdrops are just perfect.
I have had a peek at your Paris post , my you did fit so much in that day. I love Paris , we were there last November and spent a month there in 2016.
Many thanks for visiting my blog, so pleased to meet you.

Oh what a fun top and I like that it is not see through, not sure how or why the see through trend started but it is stupid lol

See through means you need to cover up in another manner with a cami so I was glad this blouse was not too sheer!

Mireille,
What a lovely yellow top against the red coke mural!
I need to find wall art for my photo instead of the woods!
I think you look lovely and shouldn’t worry about the wrinkles you wear.
I wear my wrinkles and realize how ghastly I look in portrait mode!
When I show a closeup of my jewelry then you see the wrinkles of an untouched sun-loving 62-year-old!
Hugs,
Robin

I never wear makeup and don’t take to many portrait style pics so it was a little of a shock lol! We do like that mural for pictures and are trying to look at things around us with new eyes for picture locations. I think you are lovely yourself!

Oh my gosh I love your inspiration for this outfit!! The color scheme is too cute, as are all the pieces. And I can totally relate to being too lazy for a skincare routine, ha! It’s just so much work…
Have a great Tuesday!

What a fun yellow top, so summery and great with the white jeans! The pink earrings are a nice way to accessorise it too! 🙂
I love the mural as well – I’d like to be more adventurous and find different spots for my outfit photos each day but it’s tricky when the boys are so little, I don’t want to add in carrying a camera and tripod around with me every time I go out with them, haha!
Hope that your week is going well! We have a day off today for the Ekka holiday, yay!

I am the same way which is why most of my pictures are in my backyard or neighbor’s yard!

What a cute top–I like the angled flutter sleeves–it was a good choice for a souvenir. It’s hard to find places for photos, isn’t it? When I see an interesting spot, it seems like there’s not a good place to park nearby… Plus, in our heat, lugging my camera isn’t fun.

I sure is warm to take pictures lately!

Love your top and what a great wall 🙂

It’s my favorite (both the wall and the blouse =))
