Sunshine and Pink Lemonade

This past week I saw a pretty look  featured by Karen from Lady in Violet and knew right away I wanted to replicate it with items from my closet. I have seen the pink and yellow combo before but never tried it.

First of all, I love this blouse!!! I love how it flows and while thin it is not see through. The sleeves are fun and not in the way because of their 3/4 length. I love the shade of yellow and stripes, why, yes! Another reason I love if is for sentimental reasons since I bought it on our trip to France this summer. I found it for 15 euros in a village market.

I paired it with my thrifted white cropped pants. I have worn these a lot and really do need to invest in a pair of white denim skinnies but each time that I plan to, something else takes priority or I put myself on a clothing shopping freeze! I also wore two wrap bracelets, one being a Victoria Emerson bracelet I bought on sale at the beginning of summer and the other is a wrap bracelet from Mercy House Global.

Yikes! Wrinkles! I guess I should start a skin regimen but I am too lazy so will just continue smiling and stay out of the sun! That aside, I paired the yellow shirt with my new coral Nova Nickel and Suede earrings that I purchased during their summer sale at the end of July. The coral is more pink than orange and I love how they make a statement paired with the blouse. Like I read on someone’s instagram this week, sunshine and pink lemonade!

No regrets buying these Madewell sandals when they were not on sale but full price, they are holding up wonderfully, are comfortable and really versatile! They are now 50% off at $29.99! I may have to break my shopping fast and instead of thrifting this month buy the black pair!! They are true to size. I am usually a size 6.5 to 7 and wear these in 6 1/2. And yes, I just pressed the add to cart for the black ones. I know that I will wear them as much as these and my only pair of flat black sandals really need to be retired! The hazard of blogging, but I can justify this purchase since I had alloted myself $20 for thrifting. So this is just a little over budget and I will probably wear these sandals more than any other purchase I would have made at the thrift store.

My son and I really like this metal fence and tall grasses as a backdrop for pictures. We found it in the alley that led out of the parking lot from the Coca Cola mural. We are now looking for interesting locations or backdrops for my Monday blog posts and found a couple pretty places we will use over the next few weeks. Some of my pictures from my Missouri outfit blog post made me cringe but they were real life: the mirror shot at the hotel was my last chance to take a picture of that particular outfit (we really should have stopped by the corn fields!) and there were a couple other ones that I did not like either.

I will end with a picture of  the side of a delivery truck that we thought would be great for pics if I was brave enought to ask the delivery man if I could jump on the back of the truck that had the same picture on it!

Hope you enjoyed today’s outfit and pictures! Shop your closet to imitate other’s style!

A bientôt!
