Friday Favorites
Well, after about 30 days of no shopping, Amazon called my name and I purchased two sweaters this week. I have been bookmarking different sweaters and cardigans in my Amazon shopping cart this past month to purchase in November since that is what I could use more in my closet. I am trying to be more thoughful with my purchases and not buying just to buy. What will I wear? What is a good value? While we just paid off my van, I had to replace the windshield this week and next week, I need to replace the brakes so I need to watch the 1 click feature on Amazon. It is also my youngest’s 2nd birthday this week and we will have family and friends over this weekend. So while I did make some purchases this past week, I am watching my budget and my spending.
An oldie but a goodie!
First I wanted to share something my husband had ordered on Amazon when we moved in our new house. I love this soap dispenser jar! I use it for my dish detergent and each time I look at my sink I smile: it is that little extra farmhouse item that is well made and brings a little color to the sink are while being pretty to look at.
Color block cardigan
This was such a great deal! I was looking at this sweater by a different vendor and Fashion and Dealz posted her link to a coupon for 40% off: I had to get it a day earlier than planned. It came to $18.88 instead of $30.99!
Chunky button turtle cowlneck sweater
I bought this sweater after seeing Megan from Honey We’re Home styled it on her blog last Friday. Her Amazon try-outs help me figure out what to try since Amazon clothing can be a hit and miss and can be overwhelming. This is not a true cardigan as the button are not functional so you do have to wear a tank under. I ordered it in size medium and it fits perfectly. I ordered it in the marbled gray color. It is soft and cozy and look forward to styling it on the blog!
Game night and Movie night
Last week, I decided it was time to get back to having a regular game night and movie nights (on 2 separate nights) during the weekend. Friday is now our game night while late Sunday afternoon is our movie night. To make our nights special I am planning to have special snacks or drinks. This week we had popcorn and hot cocoa and on Sunday we added a chocolate treat with our popcorn. The boys really enjoyed both evenings and I pray that I keep it a regular habit. I love how we can discuss the movie after and how everyone gets to chose some games to play. Not surprisingly my oldest chose strategy games that he proceeded to win but we also play games that my 5 year old liked to. These are the times to make memories to treasure!
A bientôt!

We tend to instill a family movie night and a game night for the fall and winter too; it’s a perfect way to spend all those early/ dark evenings at home. I love the two sweaters you picked out!

Love that soap mason jar, I just added it to my wish list. And I’ve had a color block cardigan on my wish list forever. I’m hoping someone will buy it for my birthday/Christmas.

These are such fun favorites! I love the mason jar for dish soap, I put it on my wishlist. The cardigan is really fun too and looks really soft.
I may have to re-introduce game night here again as well. Now that my kids are teens they don’t want to play traditional games so much anymore, but maybe if I plan to have fun snacks on the side, they will be up for it at least on occasion.

I had to put it on the schedule and tell the kids it was our new tradition so we wouldn’t forget. And snacks make it special!

Ah i love that soap dispenser! My partner and i just moved in together last month and so are doing a ton of decorating (the place looks very ‘bachelor’ haha) I’m so getting this soap dispenser for the kitchen! Also, I totally agree that Amazon can be hit or miss – that sweater is gorgeous so im glad to hear it’s actually good quality’/as pictured, I think i’ll give it a try!

I love the striped cardi! Sorry you had to pay so much for the van – transport can be so expensive but it’s a good investment! Hope your son has a good party and that you are having a great weekend 🙂

The party was fun!

Mireille, great items from Amazon! I love your sweater picks and the Ball jar soap dispensers are so cute! I had one at my kitchen sink for years but I just threw it away because the lid and pump got really rusty and gross. I need a new one! And we do love game and movie nights but don’t make them a scheduled thing. I think we may need to consider scheduling them to ensure that we are having that quality family time more regularly! Great post. Thanks for linking up with me.

We had gotten away from doing them regularly so now the boys ask to play more at other times but really like the special nights because we do special snacks!
