Date Night Looks
Well, after half the year without planning any date nights, I finally made it happen. We went out to dinner twice! While my husband and I do spend time together without the kids, whether driving to church, Home Depot or on errands, and we hang out watching TV or reading together, we hadn’t taken the time to dress up and go out this year. I do so enjoy dressing up and am looking forward to an anniversary trip next month. We are making up for lost time. Dinner in Town I love how my outfit turned out, but this was the third pair of pants I tried! This cutie outfit…

Classic Look: Do I find this Outfit Boring?
I thrifted this blue and white striped shirt this summer because I really loved the colors. The size was XL and the brand Crown and Ivy (which I have always found to be pretty good quality). I have worn it belted with a skirt (in a upcoming post), but I wanted to wear it again with white. I wanted to show the difference accessories could make even if it is just one piece. I wanted to show the progression of the look, with the last one is really being my favorite. I feel like this first outfit is a little boring. Silver earrings, silver cuff, grey purse and sandals. While…

Beading Earrings: Late Summer Outfits
Over the past year or so, I have added several pairs of beaded earrings to my collection. I find them original, they blend in well with my love of all things boho and they add an element of quirkiness to my outfits. So I decided to created outfits inspired by my earrings. Colorado Pair I purchased two pairs of earrings in Grand Lake, CO, this colorful pair as well as the large hoop at the end of this post. I have worn them with green/aqua and with orange in the past couple of months. Earrings are a fun way to add some interest to a simple summer outfit. Neutral Vibes…

Brights for Summer
As promised in this post, I am sharing some ways to style a striped dress with brights! Jodie and I took pictures during my visit a couple weeks ago, but I also have some examples to share that I took earlier in June and July. I have loved this dress this summer, I am glad to share it again with you. Make sure to visit Jodie’s post here! I hope these inspire you to wear brights for summer! Stripes with Yellow This is the outfit I wore to travel to Arizona (a 4 hour flight) and walk through the Atlanta airport to my gate (which is a long walk). I…

A Week of Summer Dresses
I am always working to wear all of my closet, one season at a time. So oftentimes, I give myself a theme for a week to make getting dressed easier and to allow me to highlight different things in my closet. In July, I took a week to wear my sleeveless dresses and found that freeing the shoulders was a great way to keep cool! All of these dresses but the last one were thrifted over the last few years. Double the stripes! I love finding new ways to style something and with it being the middle of summer, I chose to accessorize with color and not layers. One of…

Beating the Heat in Flowy Pants
While you would think I beat the heat in this outfit with my flowy pants and cute outfit, I can tell you right away that the heat beat me our first day in Greenville, SC last month. I thought that packing these pants with a tank would keep me cool, but what I learned was that I should have packed a couple of dresses with no waistline so that I would sweat through all of my clothes. It was 100 degrees with around 40% humidity and it was hot and unpleasant. However, we did come across some beautiful spots, so with water bottles at the ready, we did explore a…

Summer 2026: A Week of Skirts
Once more, I decided to shop my closet with a category in mind to create some outfits following a theme, in this case: skirts! While not as cool as flowy dresses (I’ll be sharing some favorites soon), I do prefer skirts over flowy pants when it is really hot. Since I have a great collection, I thought it would be fun to try to find some new combos once more. With a variety of tops in my closet, the possibility for new outfits is almost endless. I wore this for Chik-fil-A cow appreciation day and added some cow spots to get a free chicken sandwich. It was fun to already…

Thrifted Gauze Dress
I started the month of July by planning to have a very budget friendly month in as much as I could with a couple trips already planned. I decided to track daily what I spent whether it was thrifting, buying something on Amazon or something for the house. I already track grocery shopping, bills and my general spending, but I wanted to write it keep a visual daily spending tracker. My first purchases were on the 1st of the month with a quick trip to Park Ave Thrift and I spent less than 10 dollars, for this dress, the purse and a pretty top. I’ve already worn the dress several…

Stripes with White
I thrifted this dress for $2 at the end of the school year, knowing I could wear it any day on its own, but could also layer with it. Today, I am only sharing it with white, but it will be soon on the blog with brights! The first thing that caught my eye was the brown stripes followed by the material which is a cotton blend. I like that the straps are not spaghetti straps even though I usually wear a strapless bra with it. Sadly, it does not have pockets, but the fit and feel is so perfect for summer, so that I don’t mind. These sandals have…

Summer Layering with the Ageless Style Link Up
There is something about wearing an outfit and feeling really good about it: not only the comfort, but the creativity and style! I threw this together last minute because I wanted to wear something different than just a dress and accessories. This is the type of layering that I can handle in the summer: it’s fun and it is not too hot. It also helped that I was wearing it in church which is kept fairly cool. I know it is just clothes, but an outfit that boosts your mood is worthy of a mention. So, on my way home, when Jodie asked me what my theme was going to…
