    Short Sleeve Denim Jacket

I mentioned on the blog several times this year how I wanted to thrifted a denim short sleeve jacket. After keeping my eyes peeled for one for a few months, I decided that the easiest way to get one was to create one from a regular long sleeve one. So last month, when I noticed this fun denim jacket with an embroidered sunflower patch on the back for just a few dollars, I decided that I would cut the sleeves off to create my own. Why did I want a short sleeve denim jacket? I have several sleeveless dresses that I like to wear to church, but want to cover…

Polka Dots and Stripes with the Ageless Style Link Up

Today’s theme was a fun one: polka dots with stripes, now that is a fun combo! I knew right away that I wanted to wear this skirt of mine since I barely wore it last year after having worn it a lot on our trip to the republic of Georgia the year prior (you can see those outfits here). What I like about this skirt is the fun hem, the bright colors and the polka dot sash which adds a little bit of whimsy. I thrifted the skirt in 2024. I wore this outfit to church a few weeks ago, and decided to accessorize with the colors in the outfit:…

    Colorado Daily Outfits

We just came back from a week in Colorado and today I am sharing my outfits for that vacation. I always like to pack with a loose theme, so that I can build many outfits with a small amount of clothes that will fit in a carry-on suitcase. For this one week vacation to Colorado, I chose greys, pinks and white as my colors. I wore most of what I brought apart from one scarf, a pair of denim shorts and a navy graphic tee. My least favorite outfit was the one with the shorts, but otherwise I thought I did well packing with 2 pairs of sneakers and a…

Thrifted Tulip Hem Pants for the Botanical Gardens

I put away a lot of my denim and pants mid spring until fall as it gets way to hot to wear them during the summer months with the heat and humidity here in Georgia. However, I have a few pairs of lighter denim that I occasionally wear and this pair of thrifted tulip hem denim is one I enjoy pulling out on a cooler summer day. I almost didn’t buy them as they are a little loose around the waist and stretch out some, however it’s nothing that a belt can’t fix. The tulip hem is so fun and I am glad I bought them. As most things from…

    What to Wear to Church

I am having fun with these posts, but as I mentioned before, there is often not a right or wrong thing to wear for different occasions: it depends on your personal style, how much you like to dress up or not and how comfortable something is. However, it this instance, there might be some unspoken rules about what is appropriate to wear to your church. As I am Orthodox, there is an emphasis on modesty in church (which I think should apply to most churches). Some Orthodox churches are more strict than others as to what is appropriate, but if you are visiting a church or monastery in countries like…

What to Wear to a Concert

I’ve been having fun with this little series of what to wear to different events because really it all depends on your personal style and comfort as to what you would wear for different occasions and places. Today, I am sharing an outfit I wore to my son’s high school chorus concert, but this could be an outfit you could wear to a bridal or baby shower, a school banquet or dinner with your friends! Here are my other two posts, what to wear to a picnic and what to wear on a fieldtrip. I always like to dress up a little for school events, but since I wore a…

    Little Dresses for Many Occasions

With end of year events for the kids and some social outings for me, I thought it would be fun to wear some of my shorter dresses for these occasions and today, I am sharing a recap of those outfits with you. While a little black dress or a little white dress is a classic in everyone’s wardrobe, having a variety of dresses to wear for a dinner out or a school occasion creates some variety. Tennis Banquet I love red with turquoise and I have done the combo before with this dress, but using different accessories, so they was not a new idea, but was a great combo. Dresses…

    Yellow for Spring: Daily Outfits

When I realized that yellow was a color that I wore a lot in the spring, I decided to do a round up of the outfits I wore. It appears that I like to combine yellow with blue a lot! These are all outfits I wore this spring. Here’s a perfect example of how I like to wear yellow. I played around with this thrifted sleeveless top and decided to be the boss of my clothes like Jodie always inspires us, and layered a shirt under. Since the sleeves usually give me a problem with not staying up, I used my Maggie Snaps (I think she went out of business),…

What to Wear on a Picnic

There is no right or wrong for what to wear on a picnic, and I have worn dresses, flowy pants and denim to eat outdoors in the past. For today’s post, I took inspiration from a picture on Pinterest that featured a neutral outfit similar to the one I am sharing today. I have several baskets and a tote that I use for picnics, but today, I wanted to use this wicker picnic basket I found at an antique shop last year. It took me about a year of searching to find one in the price range I wanted: I did not want to spend $40 for something I would…

Denim Jacket Alternative with Maxi Dress

When I originally planned my outfit for the botanical gardens earlier in April, I planned to wear a navy denim jacket with this dress. However, after reading Jodie’s post that week, I decided to change it up and wear this cardigan wrap my bestie made me on my visit to France in 2019. I love this wrap with its unique fabric, stretch and flow. The wrap was the inspiration for the accessories which were all in the tan family. The rose pendant necklace was a hand me down from my aunt and the feather leather earrings were a gift from my mom. This tote from Amazon is great for trips…
