Fun on the lake
The last activity on our weekend in Alabama was an outing on the lake. My husband’s uncle owns a pontoon boat and usually takes us on the lake at least once.
The littlest pretended to drive while we were still at the dock.
And my oldest got to drive for quite a while, slowy than faster as well as make turns. He really enjoyed himself.
Once we leave the dock the 3 youngest always wear their life vests which makes them and us feel much more comfortable about letting them walk on the boat. Here, my 8 year old is pretending to be a tour guide. All the boys always enjoy the boat trip whether in the summer or fall.
We made a stop on a little island where the oldest tried swinging from a tree swing. No letting go into the water since it was chilly.
There were some pretty flowers to pick.
This was a perfect outing as I was getting cabin fever. I found on this trip that I really struggled with crankiness on my part because I was not in control of the schedule much and because I was having to keep my 2 year old entertained in an unfamiliar place. When we travel abroad we are usually on the go all of the time so he is happy and entertained. Being in one place with danger in several places (the lake and dock, the playground equipment) really stressed me out.
Our next vacation is a week vacation at the beach for Thanksgiving and I will make sure to bring some toys for him. I do know that my sisters in law will also help with entertaining him so mommy will have some relaxing periods of time!
A bientôt!

The boys surely look like they had tons of fun! And how wonderful to find those pretty flowers scattered around! The little one looks like he’s about to pick that white flower. Loving your casual jeans and sweater outfit!

Thanks! The 3 oldest did have a great time!

I totally know what you mean about being stressed when you can’t control the schedule- I am the same way! And it’s definitely tough keeping a toddler entertained in a single spot like a cabin on the lake. You rocked it, though!

How fun! We always loved pretending to drive the pontoon boat when we were little too! I can see how that could get stressful with a toddler though.

Probably will be a little easier next year!

Oh, this looks like so much fun. Paul’s parents used to have a lake house in Maine and it was so much fun to go up there… when the weather cooperated.

Definitely a little more fun when it is summertime!

What a fun day! I love hanging out on a pontoon boat! That swing looks like it would be a blast in the warmer months!

Yes, as long as the water is deep enough!

You look as if you’re all having a lot of fun. My boys would have loved that when they were younger. Can’t beat being near the water.

Yes, there is something relaxing and soothing about the water.

Cute photos! I always find pontoon boats so relaxing. We usually do a root beer float on one when we go to a lake by our house that the YMCA owns over the summer.

Lovely photos Mirelle. I love a zip wire myself, so long as it’s not too high! xx

I didn’t try it because I was afraid to fall in but everyone else enjoyed it!
