October Looks: Part 1

I love writing these posts! Once again as I looked through all of these outfits, I was reminded that yes! I have quite a variety of clothes and shopping is not necessary so I need to be smart in my purchases! This post is heavy on photos so divided it between today and Monday and hopefully it will inspire you to some new combinations using what you already have on hand in your closet!

The first part of October was warm or should I say hot with temperatures still in the 90s. Therefore the first few outfits in the month involved shorts! All of the items in this outfit were purchased this year and I have worn each multiples times so I have no regrets about buying them. Prices ranged from $18 to $70 and were from different stores:

  • tee and earrings (Nickel and Suede)
  • shorts (Target)
  • wedge sneakers (Nordstrom)

Another hot day but I was really trying to bring some fall vibes in with the mustard top. It is large so I knotted it on the side but probably should have gatherered it more!

Another new ouftit from this year with a JCrew skirt, Amazon tank and Caslon sandals. Even the necklace was a gift this year! I think I made some nice purchases this year! And I do not think I would like to add how much money I spent on clothes though! Don’t forget to ignore certain rules like not wearing navy and black together: the sandals and tank are black while the stripes are white and navy!

Even while doing a physical activity one can look cute! I actually wear the exact same combination each time we travel down the river since it works so well. The shorts I bought in Helen, GA one year when we went tubing about 6 to 7 years ago, the tank and hat are from Amazon. I always wear a bathing suit under. The suit is so old I do not remember where it is from!

This cute dress from Target was somewhat of an impulse buy after I saw another blogger wear it. While I love the print and cut, I probably should not have bought it because I really needed a size larger. I wore it with leggings this time and felt more comfortable but I only have worn it 3 times since I bought: not great as far as cost per wear!

Trying to bring in fall with the olive joggers but still hot so tank top for the win!

These camo pants were the second camo item I added to my closet this summer/fall and I love them. While they do get loose around the waist by the end of the day, they are worth what I paid for them. I was glad to add 3 old blush items from my closet, all at least a couple years old! Yes! Wearing what I already own makes me feel good!

The charcoal tunic was an under $9 buy from jane.com and looks so crisp with white! I love, love, love my Nickel and Suede leopard earrings and my trusty old pair of leopard sandals from Old Navy!

With this outfit I wanted to bring a darker palette using older items in my closet. I love these booties but do not reach for them as often as my others since they have a higher heel. They are very comfortable though so I will need to remember them more often!

I wore one of my favorite Modcloth purses for most of September and October. I like the pop of color and how the bag is structured. I most often use it as a crossbody since it is more practical while around town with a 2 year old! This was the first time I wore my new Nickel and Suede saffron earrings but I need to bring them out again!

This is my last short sleeve outfit for the month. I went for a monochromatic look in olive after being inspired by other bloggers!

Hope you have found a little inspiration! Come back on Monday for part 2 of my October looks!
