Leather jacket, 4 ways

While this jacket is faux leather, it is well made and I do not feel the need to add a real leather jacket to my closet. I have another faux leather jacket in the blush family which is more of a moto jacket. I did use to have a nice brown real leather jacket that was lined but after many years, I finally donated it. It was getting too tight for me.

I really love having a colored “leather” jacket because it adds interest to any outfit. Even better, this is the jacket my sister in law gave me so I didn’t have to spend  a dime on it. The last few months, I have been trying to work on being content with my possessions and actually try to control that impulse to buy. I still have bought a few things but have thought long and hard about them before pressing the add ot cart button.

Winter look

This was the week I received the jacket. We went to a fun outdoor light festival and it was cold but not too cold. The jacket was a great layer to cut the wind and keep me warm. I have found that if I have a warm hat and a type of windbreaker, I can be outdoors for quite a while. I am glad that the jacket is a size medium so I can add a sweater under if needed and still be able to zip it.

With a skirt

You might have seen this look in last week’s post. I like the jacket over skirt and dresses. In fact I plan to wear it on a double date with the hubby and friends next week when we go down to Atlanta. It is a big deal for us because we usually don’t go far when we go out but we want to go somewhere fun. I guess we better figure out where we are going soon. Thinking of Ponce Market but there are a couple other spots.

Over a sweater

This is probably one of my favorites because I really like the fun shoes and earrings I chose to wear with the jacket. I love taking pictures of my outfits not because I love taking pictures of myself but because it helps me see what works and because it gives be ideas on what else to try as well as reminds me that I have lots of clothes to work with.

This is another similar outfit. It uses the same formula of cute shoes and earrings to add that little extra to the outfit. I haven’t regretted one minute spending a little more on my two pairs of wedge sneakers. Cute, comfortable and hopefully will last in my closet for years to come.

So while all of these outfits would work with a black leather jacket, you can see that a colored leather jacket can be fun and works just as well. Imagine these outfits with a burgundy jacket: fun too!
