February favorites
This month my favorites are different as in they are not purchases. I did buy a few new skirts from Shein, a pair of leggings from Go 2 (which I will review and compare with my Zella leggings next month) but my favorites are moments and things I made!
Homemade yogurt
After at least a year of not making yogurts, I am back at it. My 9 year old kept asking when I would be making some yogurt and while the boys do love the whole milk vanilla 32 oz yogurt tubs from Kroger, we do go through them fairly quickly. If you have a favorite yogurt recipe, please share.
Here is my recipe:
- 1 and 1/2 quarts of whole milk
- 4 tbsp of whole milk powder (Nido, not to be mistaken with Nido Kinder 1, been there, done that) to thicken yogurt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 yogurt starter, I usually use 6 oz of plain yogurt or vanilla yogurt
- 2 tbsp of sugar, optional
Mix together once milk is at room temperature. 8 hours in yogurt maker.
Exercise
After several weeks of not exercising and a couple pictures that my son took, I am back on the wagon and exercised 5 days last week (1 hike, 3 gym, 1 bike ride) and stayed on track this week too! (twice at the gym, bike ride and a brisk walk).
Date nights
After a couple months of no date nights (but we did have some day dates, lunches and walk without kids), we had 2 double dates this month. Hoping to repeat that experience next month. I am looking forward to trying out some other restaurants in Marietta square.
So there you have it, February favorites! I am hoping for a drier March and more sunny days. I will be working on updating my boys rooms on a small budget, reusing some of the things we have but getting some new bedding.
Until next time,
A bientôt!

I have had this one for years and no problems at all. I bought some extra jars so I can make some more often.

It was really fun! Hubby and I had drinks while we waited for our friends so we had solo time and friend time!

I’ve never made yogurt before, but that sounds so fun! And that’s awesome you’ve been good about exercising the past two weeks. I wish I could say the same!

About to make another batch tomorrow. Hopefully I will keep up with the exercise this week. We did bike two days in a row so I am doing well!

I’ve never tried making my own yoghurt! My boys do like it though but I try mix it up a little so we don’t have yoghurt all the time, sometimes I give them cheese instead so they have a bit of variety! 🙂
Hope that you are having a great weekend 🙂 We spent the day with my mum yesterday shopping the sales for the leap day (and getting some great toy bargains we’ve put away for the kids birthdays!)

My boys eat so much yogurt! They like cheese too but not as much.

Two date nights is winning!!!! That’s fantastic. Also, I always envy your hiking pictures and I always feel inspired to get outdoors more.

Thank you. We have been trying to go outdoors when it is nice weather outside. We have had so much rain the past 3 months that we try to take advantage of sunny days and that day of a break in the weather.

Mireille, you are so adorable! I didn’t even know homemade yogurt was a thing you could do! I am so impressed. I go through a ton of yogurt in my house as well. This seems much more budget friendly. And yay for exercise and date nights! I need to add both into my routine! Thanks for linking up.

It is nice that my boys enjoy it and are not too picky. I go through phases of buying yogurt and phases of making it. I can buy the tubs of vanilla whole milk yogurt at Kroger for $1.79 and divide those in 5 portions, making it comes slighty cheaper depending on the price of milk, probably $1.25 for 7 I guess.
