Friday Favorites
While I haven’t shopped for clothes for a couple of weeks apart from updating one of my bathing suit, but I have been working on updating some things in my kitchen. I am constantly reevaluating which tools I use, how I am organizing things and how my cleaning works for me or not. Well the cleaning was not very exciting and here is where my first favorite comes in.
Mrs Meyer’s Multipurpose Spray
I bought a 3 pack on Amazon but I do not see it it there right now but am linking the Lemon Verbana scent that you can find at Target. I wanted a 3 pack in case I want to keep on on each floor and also so I can buy the concentrate when the bottles are empty.
I am currently using some old washcloths to clean. I never had a rag pile before but there is something very rewarding about taking this spray and a rag and cleaning the inside of a drawer, the front of a cabinet or a door knob. I have been very impressed with this product. My farmhouse table never has looked this shiny and clean and I use it occasionally on our counters too.
Food Huggers
The following gadget is kind of fun! I am always wasting ziplock bags and plastic wrap on my half used onions, tomatoes or lemons. I ordered these food huggers on Amazon and I think I am really going to enjoy having them on hand.
Homemade Popsicles
Last year, we didn’t make many popsicles and I felt like we were missing out a little on one of our summer traditions. So far we have made nutella popsicles and yogurt/blueberry popsicles. I usually like to find recipes with 2-4 ingredients that I can mix up in my Ninja.
Lavender and Sunflowers
My favorite flowers are lavenders and sunflowers. So this year, I picked up an English lavender plant since my local stores do not carry the type of lavender that I would prefer (Provence lavender). It is not as fragrant but it surely is pretty. Next week, I will take the time to look online for some!
I also planted some sunflower seeds and I am sure you will see some pictures in the future when they bloom. I am very thankful for my mother in law watering the plants since they probably would not do well with only me watering them!
What are some of your favorite things in the past couple of weeks?
A bientôt!

These are great favorites, I’ve been wanting to try some Mrs. Meyers products. Homemade popsicles are the best! We make them occasionally.
The flowers look so pretty! I’ve planted sunflowers over the years, last year the squirrels were climing up the sunflower stacks before they even bloomed and each one of them snapped in half. Didn’t plant any this year, but maybe I’ll try again. Maybe I need to plant those with a thinner stem so they aren’t even trying to climb up on them.
Hope you’re having a good weekend!

Mean ole squirrels. No squirrels in our backyard thankfully.

We just made homemade popsicles and have been loving them! Sunflowers are also my favorite and I’m hoping to plant a bunch in the next few weeks. I hope you have a great weekend!

Thanks, Sierra! Waiting patiently for them to grow.

I’ve been wondering about Mrs. Meyer’s cleaning spray since it seems so popular. One of my friend’s didn’t care for the scent that she had. I’m glad to hear you’re liking it. Gosh, I feel like I waste bags, too, on fruits and vegetables–keep us posted on how you like those.

This one is definitely not my favorite scent but I am getting accustomed to it. Looking forward to trying the lavender one.

I’ve added the food huggers to my Amazon list. We are transitioning to a plant-based diet, and I may need these. The lavender is gorgeous!

They are practical for sure!

Nutella popscicles sound delicious! We’ve used our molds a few times but I’d really love to get into the habit of trying a new recipe every other week. I like knowing what’s in our pops and they really are quite easy to make.

That is my hope for this summer.

I have not bought one article of clothing since this whole pandemic nightmare began. If there is anything I’ve learned through this whole experience is how many “worthless” items I own. I don’t think I’ll ever shop the same if this is ever over. I love lavender and sunflowers too. Lavender doesn’t grow well where I live, so I just have to enjoy it through pictures.

Mine has been in pots and hasn’t lasted more than a couple years usually.

Thanks, Kathrine! It is surprising how much fun I am having spraying down things and cleaning.

We used to make popsicles but gave away the mold when we moved. But we did freeze orange slices and they are almost as good.

Those popsicles look so yummy! I’ve been meaning to make some but it’s not quite hot enough where I live yet.

Yeah, they are definitely more fun when it is hot!

I love how pretty lavender looks but the scent gives me headaches unfortunately! We had a particular type of flower in the common area of our old townhouse that had a very strong scent and that set me off too – luckily it didn’t seem to flower long, and there are no plants like that around our new place, phew! I don’t have allergies or anything, no hayfever, just some plants give me headaches!
Hope you are having a great weekend 🙂 We aren’t doing much, staying home and staying warm with that cold winter weather that’s here!
mimifce
That is too bad. Perfumes bother me but not flowers usually.

They are pretty cool. Still only have used one because of course no need for lemons or anything else the last week or so.

Mmm, blueberry yogurt popsicles sound refreshing, and delicious! Looks like your little guy likes ’em.
mimifce
Yes, and they were better the second time: just mixed the yogurt with the berries completely.
