Inspired by Jess at Elegantly Dressed and Stylish
What to do when you need inspiration for a blog post? Turn to your fellow bloggers and take inspiration from them. When I came accross this look of Jess, my first thought was: oh, I can totally copy this outfit! Jess always looks stylish whether she is wearing one of her many skirts or dresses or whether she is rocking a jean and graphic tee look. I really love it when I can replicate someone’s outfit by shopping my closet and not succumbing to the shopping bug. I had grandiose ideas of really reducing my clothes shopping this year and while I do not regret any of my purchases (I did think them through), I hope to end the year with less shopping and more saving. As things open back up, the travel bug is biting me and the less I spend on clothes the more I can save for traveling and vacations.
I will say though, that I am proud of the way my closet is shaping, I am continually assessing what I have and have gotten to the point of realizing that I should only keep what I really am wearing. I think this fall will give me some insights about a few things that are still hanging there but haven’t been worn. Anyhow, on to the outfit I am copying. In her blog post, Jess wore a denim skirt with a olive top and leopard scarf.
Since my ball earrings are pink and orange, I chose one of my neutral Nickel and Suede earrings to pair with my outfit.
I bought this olive tank at Target last year and really like the detail in the back. The tank is versatile and flows nicely.
I bought the similar circle purse last year on Amazon and it is a fun addition when you want to add a summery touch to your outfit.
I had a leopard neck scarf that I was going to add and I totally forgot about it! So I had to get back out of my pajamas to take one last shot! This is the 2nd time, I copy an outfit, forget an important component and have to go back out to take one more picture! This leopard scarf has been in my closet for about 10 years, way before leopard became trendy again.
Lastly, the sandals were a Payless find after seeing them on a blogger a couple of years ago. I love a wedge heel but do not wear them too frequentely since they are not the most practical pair of shoes to run after a toddler.
I hope you have enjoyed this copycat look! Do you ever copy other’s outfits?
A bientôt!

Thanks, Shauna! I think I will have a lot of these kinds of posts this summer. I have gotten the travel bug so I am going to concentrate on saving and buying less (hopefully I will stick to it) so finding inspiration in my closet from others is perfect.

I really liked this outfit of Jess’s, too, and wanted to copy it! You did such a great job. My pieces aren’t quite as close to the inspiration ones.

The general idea counts! I typically write down notes when I see something that I know I can replicate. Makes for some fun posts.

This is so fun! I love the outfit! You really nailed it. I especially love your circle bag. They’re so perfect for summer. Olive is also one of my favorite colors in tops and dresses right now!

I like that circle bag for a nice summery touch. I will wear it a couple weeks at a time then I rotate another bag and then back again.

What a perfect copy Mireille!! I just wore an olive skirt today IRL, and I’m glad to find ways to wear it in the summer.

This is such a fab outfit, totally suits you. and yes the scarf is great finishing touch, kind of pulls it all together and makes it a polished casual look. I have been wearing scarves more than ever lately because where I live on the Black Sea when entering a store we have to cover our faces with a scarf or mask. I prefer a scarf. So as not to forget one I am including them in my daily outfits and actually it really elevates it!

I have thought abot doing that too! I used to wear neck scarves a lot more often and I have kept my favorites. Need to bring them back out!

Awesome style steal, Mireille! It’s a great look on both of you. And I don’t think you can ever go wrong with an outfit that includes a denim skirt in any case. Hope your week is going well!

You did a great job imitating Jess’s outfit and look really lovely in it. Love the lace detail of your blouse, I didn’t expect that at all. That is what great about blogging, you get inspired by other women and it helps you to expand your style and test your own fashion boundaries
