Favorite September Looks (Part 1)

As we reach the end of the month, I like to look back at what I wore! My blog is my space for sharing what I wear as a stay at home mom. a place where I try to be creative as well as share my travels and tips about life, organization and mommyhood. I feel like I am getting better with feeling content with what I have and more specific with what I would like to add to my closet. I am about 40 days into my no shopping for clothes and am loving the outfits I have created this month. One of my friends (and neighbor) gave be several skirts and a dress this month so I actually felt like I had gone shopping without having to.

Colorful

One of my favorite things about summer outfits is color! I only wore this dress a few times in the past years but I think I found a new way to enjoy this pretty dress: add a layer on the bottom. My blogger friend Shelbee also suggested opaque tights, flared jeans or a lace dress extender: looking forward to trying that!

Oh, how I love yellow! And I love this wrap cardigan made by my best friend, Veronique!

Color added with accessories! My sister in law gave me this leopard tee last year and it is so fun! My mom gave me the fun leaf earrings: I thought I had broken them but no, it was an easy fix!

I actually shared a very similar outfit last year minus the shoes as well as 3 or 4 other tops in my closet I could pair with this kimono. Remember when you buy something, you should have more than one way in mind as to how to wear it!

Skirts

I still can’t get over how often I have been wearing skirts in the past 6 months! The key has been comfort and variety! I really am itching to find a couple of fall dresses and am thinking that using a giftcard is not really shopping. Wouldn’t you agree? This little skirt was thrifted years and years ago.

Now this is a fun skirt, one of the ones my neighbor gave me. Isn’t that hem fun! The great thing about this skirt is that the night before she gave me this skirt, I was thinking about the skirt I had left in the Republic of Georgia 2 years ago and how I should replace it and bam! This is an even better one than mine. I love the boho feel!

You all know this skirt! I chose to wear it on my birthday as it always makes me feel pretty and girly.

Yep, more color! One of my favorite Target buys from the spring. And am loving the Ciao tee also. As you can tell, I really like to wear tees with my skirts. I think I like to offset the girliness of skirts with something simple. I wore a lot of pretty little dresses growing up and now I like to put my twist to wearing skirts. Simple t-shirt and fun earrings is my favorite way to wear them.

I was looking at this picture thinking which skirt is this when I remembered that it was a dress! Black tank dress under that same leopard tee. Don’t forget that trick especially with tank or fitted dresses!

Have you reached for certain items in your closet this month? On Friday, I will share my September joggers and fallish looks!
