Favorite September Looks (Part 1)
As we reach the end of the month, I like to look back at what I wore! My blog is my space for sharing what I wear as a stay at home mom. a place where I try to be creative as well as share my travels and tips about life, organization and mommyhood. I feel like I am getting better with feeling content with what I have and more specific with what I would like to add to my closet. I am about 40 days into my no shopping for clothes and am loving the outfits I have created this month. One of my friends (and neighbor) gave be several skirts and a dress this month so I actually felt like I had gone shopping without having to.
Colorful
One of my favorite things about summer outfits is color! I only wore this dress a few times in the past years but I think I found a new way to enjoy this pretty dress: add a layer on the bottom. My blogger friend Shelbee also suggested opaque tights, flared jeans or a lace dress extender: looking forward to trying that!
Oh, how I love yellow! And I love this wrap cardigan made by my best friend, Veronique!
Color added with accessories! My sister in law gave me this leopard tee last year and it is so fun! My mom gave me the fun leaf earrings: I thought I had broken them but no, it was an easy fix!
I actually shared a very similar outfit last year minus the shoes as well as 3 or 4 other tops in my closet I could pair with this kimono. Remember when you buy something, you should have more than one way in mind as to how to wear it!
Skirts
I still can’t get over how often I have been wearing skirts in the past 6 months! The key has been comfort and variety! I really am itching to find a couple of fall dresses and am thinking that using a giftcard is not really shopping. Wouldn’t you agree? This little skirt was thrifted years and years ago.
Now this is a fun skirt, one of the ones my neighbor gave me. Isn’t that hem fun! The great thing about this skirt is that the night before she gave me this skirt, I was thinking about the skirt I had left in the Republic of Georgia 2 years ago and how I should replace it and bam! This is an even better one than mine. I love the boho feel!
You all know this skirt! I chose to wear it on my birthday as it always makes me feel pretty and girly.
Yep, more color! One of my favorite Target buys from the spring. And am loving the Ciao tee also. As you can tell, I really like to wear tees with my skirts. I think I like to offset the girliness of skirts with something simple. I wore a lot of pretty little dresses growing up and now I like to put my twist to wearing skirts. Simple t-shirt and fun earrings is my favorite way to wear them.
I was looking at this picture thinking which skirt is this when I remembered that it was a dress! Black tank dress under that same leopard tee. Don’t forget that trick especially with tank or fitted dresses!
Have you reached for certain items in your closet this month? On Friday, I will share my September joggers and fallish looks!

I am still loving that yellow skirt! And you have the best neighbor! I didn’t shop in September, but now I really need a warmer coat!

You have such fun and unique pieces in your closet to create all these amazing outfits! I have several skirts and dresses in my closet but somehow never get around to wearing them! Or maybe I just struggle with styling them…Yea, I think that’s it! You make it look so easy!!
Glad you were able to fix the leaf earrings, they are gorgeous!

I think it is learning to try new things (I’ve been getting a lot of ideas with Jodie from jtouchofstyle) and having a variety of things(most of my things that are not basics are either thrifted, given to me by friends or I found them inexpensively). I have been trying to get out of my comfort zone.

These are all great looks, Mireille! I think my favorite is the turquoise tunic dress. I love turquoise and it’s a beautiful color on you. Also, I think I love how you figured out to wear this item of clothing as a tunic rather than a dress in order to get more use out if it. And I am a bit envious of your yellow items. I love yellow, but it just doesn’t look that good on me. I try to keep yellow on the bottom if I wear it at all.
Fun post!

Maybe one day you will find a shade that works. But at least you can do skirts and leggings… in that color.
Lindsey Puls
All of these are such cute outfits! I’m always a fan of your yellow floral skirt… although, I may be biased! Haha. Your leaf earrings are awesome!! I’m glad they were easy to fix!
mimifce
Thanks, Lindsay! It was one of my best buys! I always love it when I see you wear it too!

Thank you, Ashley! I think the layers will be coming out more in October: at least I hope so.
Laura Bambrick
These are all really cute outfits! I love the red maxi with your ciao shirt the most I think! You are good at documenting your everyday outfits!
mimifce
Thanks, Laura! My son probably wishes I didn’t but it really helps me figure out what I wear and what I don’t as well as notice what I may want to add. Plus it makes me be versatile by trying new combos.

You have a ton of cute outfit and kudos for doing so good in not buying anything new! It’s so hard to want to buy new things during this time because of all the unknowns. Anyway, that floral skirt is beautiful. Yellow is a stunning color and I cannot get enough!

I kind of cheated by using giftcards but my intention is to not spend money on clothes. So I guess I am good!
Shauna
These posts always come so fast. I always think to myself – “It’s the end of the month already?!” 🙂 Love the kimono. The length is great and I love the colors. They have such a pretty fall feel to them.

Thanks, Shauna! I don’t reach for the kimonos as much as I would have thought but do like their airiness.

I haven’t worn my kimonos as much as I would have thought but I do like their airiness.
Lise
Such cute outfits. My faves are the striped skirt you thrifted years ago and the leopard tee outfits.
mimifce
Thanks! I am really liking that tee too! And can’t beat free, lol!
mimifce
Thank you, Lise! I have been loving the leopard tee!
Kimberly F Malkiewicz
What a great month of looks, my friend. You do so well at documenting your outfits. I really like the pops of turquoise with your sandals and earrings.
mimifce
Thanks, Kim! My son gets annoyed with taking my pics but they turn out better than with the tripod!
Andrea Nine
I love you in yellow and that leopard tee is so good!
mimifce
Thanks, Andrea! That tee is so good: it has a great fit and just works with so much!
Shelbee on the Edge
So many cute outfits, Mireille, it’s hard to pick a favorite! That yellow floral skirt is always so fun. You are really finding so many gorgeosu ways to wear it. And that striped pencil skirt with graphic tee and Adidas is super cool! I would totally wear that. Your shoe game is killing it, too! Thanks for linking up.
