A Perfect Fall Look: Dress and Jacket

While I said I would not be shopping till the new year, I have decided that not spending money equals to not really shopping. So I was able to purchase a few things without spending a dime by redeeming credit card points for a $50 gift card and finally reached my $20 on the Ibotta app to redeem for cash. I was able to get this dress and the hat at Target for 20% off. The Ibotta points paid for a TjMaxx dress on clearance and I have about 10 dollars left. Therefore I am helping my finances and budget by not spending money on clothes while still getting a couple new things which of course is fun for someone who really enjoys clothes and putting together outfits.

First of all, I love this dress! I had my eye on another dress but I couldn’t get it shipped to my house and my store did not carry it. This was a similar maxi boho style dress in the fall colors that I wanted. I love the neckline and sleeves (appropriate for church) and I will look pretty in the spring with a white denim jacket.

I found the perfect spot for pictures just down the street and was glad the bales of hay hadn’t been picked up yet. We were not the only people with the same idea as there was a young family taking family pictures. This field is right next to a walking track and a parking lot so it was easy to walk over the the bales. I have wanted to take pictures here in the past but always waited to long. I always feel like my pictures look more professional when my son and I take to time to find an interesting location for our pictures. Time usually gets in the way.

A neutral hat and booties help make this outfit complete: my booties are a couple years old and I really like the lower shaft because it works well with skirts and dresses. My jacket was thrifted some years back.

I need to have some blogging goals. So far, my goal has been to grow my readership and little by little that is happening. I am always thankful for everyone’s comments on my posts as it affirms that people are reading them. I am thankful for the monthly co hosting the Sunday Showcase link up with my friend Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood. Now I need to be more consistent with better photographs and do my research on SEO to come up with better post titles to be more “searchable” on the internet and work on Pinterest. Will be quizzing my blogging friends about what they do with Pinterest because many have mentioned how many new readers come from there!

Do you have dresses that you consider fall dresses? Wear them with booties and denim jackets now, boots and leather jackets or cardigans later. I am looking forward to styling this dress in many ways. Word to the wise, it is the Knox and Rose line so it tends to run large. Since I knew it would have some give and lots of length, I sized down to a XS.

A bientĂ´t!

Beautiful! Such a lovely dress, and it looks fabulous on you. I really need to find a way to get photos other than my balcony or my mom’s backyard. It’s a little tough as masks are mandatory, but I’m sure we could find an out of the way spot where I could remove it for a minute.

I have the same issues with SEO. I’ve come to understand that the most searchable titles are not the most creative. And yet creative titles are more likely to entice someone to read. So confusing!

I am sure you can! Here masks are required indoors so when outdoors, I usually do not wear one unless in a a crowded place which is not something that happens.

It sure is hard to schedule the time for it sometimes. We have free time but don’t always want to use it for photos.

Mireille, I absolutely love this outfit!!! You look so boho chic! And such great deals too, I’m glad you were able to buy some stuff without spending “real” money. The location for these photos couldn’t be more perfect, either. What exactly is the Ibotta app? I haven’t heard of it before.
Your blogging goals sound great. I also really need to research SEO and figure out how to use it. I’ve been trying to engage on Pinterest more, but I haven’t been inspired to pin lately. If you end up gathering some good advice, that could make a really helpful post!
Congrats on growing your readership, and I hope your week is off to a great start.

    Miles of smiles,

The ibotta app is a free app where you scan your grocery receipts. You then check to see if any of your items have a rebate associated with them. Usually are brand names stuff. Which is why it takes me a while to get to $20. There is also another app called Fetch which is similar but gives you points that eventually turn into money. I usually redeem every $3 because it takes a while. Like Ibotta certain grocery items and brands are worth more. Easier to use because all you have to do is take pic of your receipt. If you decide to use either one, let me know and I will give you my referral code which will give both of us free points/money.

This is such a fabulous outfit Mireille!! It totally doesn’t count when you’re not spending real money. I just bought a pair of shoes that came to $5 because I had DSW rewards to spend. It’s the best feeling ever!!

You use Ibotta! I got it a couple of years ago but never got off the ground with it-maybe I should give it another try. The colors are so perfect in your dress and I always love me a good hat.

I feel the same way when I sew or knit something from my stash-makes it more fun.

Wow, you look like a model Hun. Well I love the dress, earrings and always, always love to see a denim jacket. Thanks for sharing on the #chicandstylish #LINKUP Jacqui x

Oh, thank you, Jacqui! It was really fun to take pictures in a new place! Our weather hasn’t stayed cool enough much for my denim jacket (just a few days here and there). They do make an outfit, don’t they!

Mireille, this dress is amazing! I love the fall shades and the print is so good for a beautiful autumn look. The denim jacket and booties are perfect with it. And you know, I am loving these fun photos with the hay bales! You are so pretty, my friend! And how great that you were able to add a few new wardrobe items without spending a dime! Yay! As for SEO and all that back end blogging stuff, I am still clueless after 5 years of doing this blog thing! I have researched and read lots and I still don’t get it! Thanks for linking up.

Lol! I haven’t taken the time to research it so I cannot say yet whether I will be clueless or not! I am now back to spending some dimes but it was a nice little hiatus. Thanks for the compliment! I really like the dress with a layer the best as the waist is not my favorite: almost an empire waist.

I love this dress on you! it’s so pretty, a great boho style and it layers so well for autumn! Boots and a denim jacket are staples for me with dresses in spring and autumn! 🙂

Hope that you had a good weekend! 🙂 Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup!
