Friday Favorites
I almost didn’t post today but then I decided to share things that made me happy this month. They were not purchases even though those were fun but they were moments and time spent doing things that I love!
Outdoors Fire with the Family
We’ve been making fires on Sunday nights as hubby is usually finishing work on Friday and we are at church part of Saturday evening. We love this time hanging out by the fire, eating treats, playing games (sometimes) and just hanging out. This past one was even nicer has the weather has cooled off in the evenings.
Running
Ran my 2nd 5K in 2 months and placed again. This race benefited a local K9 police department and the run was scenic and mostly flat. It was a first race so a smaller group therefore easier to place! Still, I was impressed with my pace of 8.40 per mile.
Snacks
I’ve been baking more in an attempt to spend less on snacks and the boys have enjoyed the special treats.
New Recipes
I’ve been trying some new recipes and the Magnolia Table cookbooks are still my favorites. This was delicious albeit not low in calories! All that yummy cream and cream cheese but hey, the spinach and sundried tomatoes and chicken should count for something. By the way, cooking a whole chicken in the instant pot is life changing!
Hiking
Along with running 2 to 3 times a week, I have been hiking once a week. I am really enjoying the daily exercise and haven’t missed a day in 2 weeks.
Sunrises
We have been enjoying some really cool foggy mornings and pretty sunrises (dropping off the boys at school is at a perfect time for that right now) and I finally got my oldest to snap a picture for me. I wish I could stop and enjoy the views a little but the brief look of the scenery is enought to make my day brighter!

That’s so impressive that you ran another 5 K Mireille. And the snacks look wonderful. I need to work on that more.

The homemade snacks go fast, but they are yummy and economical!

I really enjoy running, too! I just ran a half and I did about 9-9:30 pace for the first 9 miles, but then I couldn’t keep up that pace. Ha! But, it was a lot of fun and I’m planning a Spring one! Congrats on your placement! All of your recipes look good, I need to dust off my Magnolia book!

I was going to run another 5K next week, but since my leg has been bothering me, I am just going to to the running club and give it a rest. We will hike instead.
