Periwinkle with the Ageless Style Link UP

I enjoyed putting this outfit together as there were so many shades of periwinkle to choose from. The color is derived from violet and blue and while the new Pantone color of the year Very Peri might be a little more infused with color the shade of purple in my outfit fits quite well in the tones of periwinkle as can be found by googling the color.

This is the Veri Peri color: I do have one purple top that I guess would be very close in shade but is a summer top and I did not want to buy anything new for our theme. I am curious to see who shows tones close to Very Peri or more of a periwinkle color.

The first thing I realized when I put together this outfit was how budget friendly it was: from head to toe, it only cost about less than $40!

My Target black boots cost me the most at $22 when I picked them up on a 50% sale in December. They are perfect as a dressier pair of boots as well as giving me some height when needed as with these bootcut jeans. These jeans were an awesome find at my favorite consigment store: $10 for a WHBH jeans is a deal in my book.

Since I wore my sweater in a similar color a couple posts ago, I chose this Talbot top that I also found at a consigment shop for around $5. I love the sleeves that are a little above the wrists so I can still take care of things around the house without them being in the way as well as the weight of it: lighter than a sweater but heavier than a tshirt. I always try things in different sizes while thrifting: this is a size L and while it fits a little oversized, it is perfect with a little front tuck.

The scarf was a gift and scarves have been my favorite accessories this winter with our weird weather: just enough warmth for most days. Like the blanket scarves, the infinity scarves have lost some of their popularity but I still like them and wear them. There is no need to be on trend all of the time. Have fun with your clothes: the fit and cut are much more important than trends!

My little earrings were a giveaway gift on Kathrine’s blog that I won about a year ago. I love them with scarves, while running and as a smaller pretty detail when I do not want to wear statement earrings. Elegant! But there is nothing like taking pictures to realize it is about time for a haircut again: it has been since before Thanksgiving break since I had it trimmed I think!

The Indian Mounds was once again a great spot for pictures on our way home. Less than 10 minutes to take care of these and a reminder to come and just enjoy the scenery here when I do not need to take blog pictures. I need to come and sit on one of the benches or walk to the river and just breathe and take it all in.

Don’t forget to check out what shades of periwinkle the Ageless ladies styled. I am quite excited to see what they came up with!
