What Shoes to Wear with a Denim Dress
About a month ago, Jodie (JtouchofStyle) and I entered a giveaway hosted by Kancan USA and we both won an item of our choice! We decided to choose the same item so we could both style it on our blogs! At Jodie’s suggestions we chose the Virginia Button Down denim dress. I didn’t own one and love the idea of wearing it as a dress and as a duster/layer since the buttons are functional. There are many ways to style this type of dress but today I am focusing on what of shoes to wear with your denim dress! I kept my accessories the same to keep the focus on the shoes.
So to answer the question of this blog post: any and all shoes will work beautifully with a denim dress! I am sharing 5 different type of shoes to illustrate that point.
With Sneakers
I reach the most for my white sneakers but this would work with my tan ones, my snakeskin ones, my burgundy ones… you get the point! Denim dress with sneakers is a winning combination.
With Booties
Booties of any color or shape give the denim dress a little fall vibe. When it is cooler you could add tights or leggings under the dress. I have so many ideas how to style this!
With Casual Sandals
Of course, any type of sandals will work with denim. Denim being a neutral, you really have no excuse to not wear your denim dresses! Of course, finding the right one for you might take a minute: I didn’t have one until now because the ones I came accross were either too small, too short, too stiff! Be on the lookout when thrifting: I found 2 chambray long tunics a few weeks ago you will see be wearing a lot this fall and winter.
With Boots
You can choose heel boots, low boots, riding boots or even western boots. Any and all will look fantastic with your dress!
With Dressy Sandals
So I had fun after taking these pictures: I couldn’t figure out why my sandals felt weird on my feet until I realized I didn’t put them on correctly! The sparkle adds some fun to my outfit and I need to wear them a little more often!
So if you own a denim dress you haven’t worn in a while, pull it out this fall and have fun creating a variety of outfits and pick any shoe to wear with it! Don’t forget to stop by Jodie’s post to see how she can inspire you!

That denim dress is so cute and I love all these styling options; though I’d never think to pair mine with sneakers I love that look.

I just told Jodie, on her blog, that I have a denim dress on right now without accessories. I’m going to change that and put it on IG! Love a denim dress.

I saw that! So fun!

Can’t believe it but the white sneakers is my favorite option! (I just wish sneakers + dress/skirt looked as good on me as it does on you.) The sparkly sandals is really cute – the juxtaposition of the rugged denim + sparkle is so fun.

That was my favorite too!

Thanks, Marsha! There are certain cuts of jeans I struggle with which shoes I think look best but at least with a dress, it’s much easier!

Your denim dress is so beautiful and I think you nailed one of the best things about dresses like this in this post – you can make it look so different each time just changing up the acessories! I’ll always be a fan of a dress and sneakers combo though 🙂
Thanks for joining the Weekday Wear link up. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend 🙂

I took more pictures with it this weekend for an October post: I really like it as a duster too.
