Valentine’s Look with the Sunday Showcase

I am not one to wear pink and red hearts and holiday themed shirts and outfits. However,  I do enjoy wearing outfits that do give a nod to celebrating so when Ada suggested hearts for our February Showcase, I decided to add something new to my closet. Since I did not want something that screamed Valentines, I went into one of my favorite local consignment stores to see what I could find. I was pleasantly surprised when I came across this cute JCrew sweatshirt for $13.

I decided to pair it with my new TJMaxx clearance find: a true wrap midi leopard skirt. I did spend some money last month on clothes but since it was mostly gifted money, I decided that it was ok! The skirt was 8 dollars which is a steal!

I wore this outfit to church and played with the white of the sweatshirt by bookending it with my white sneakers and a white pair of earrings. I half tucked in the sweatshirt to downplay its casualness. This was a very comfortable church outfit and I did not feel too casual in it.

I probably will pack this top for our winter break vacation and will pair it with jeans on Valentine’s day. More than likely hubby and I will go on a date a night or two before the 14th but I will dress up for those.

I really have been disappointed with our winter weather so far! We’ve had a lot of rain, some mild days and then that crazy freeze for a few days before Christmas. There hasn’t really been winter weather per se. Yes, we do get temperatures in the 40s quite often but they often don’t warrant more than a sweater. I really would like to bundle up and get some snow!

I’m going to be celebrating my Goddaughter’s wedding today. I am very excited for her and have been looking forward to this event!
