Prints for the March Sunday Showcase
Spring is in the air! I wanted to share some pretty prints that would give a nod to spring but would still be appropriate for the end of winter. While thrifting a week in February, I came across this Zara dress new with tags. I was attracted by the large blue print against the cream background and while I knew it would be too short to wear as a dress, I could envision it as a tunic or a jacket. I was correct: after trying it on, I found out it was a winner.
The dress has buttons and a tie at the waist which really makes it versatile. My Target boots pick up the background color of the dress and bookend it nicely. Our winter has been so strange this year and half of it has felt like spring.
I did wear a blue tank under for extra warmth and also because I knew I would unbutton the dress for the 2nd look. I have been trying to use all of my purses so I took out my navy Amazon purse out for a couple of weeks.
It was really interesting shopping for dresses. There are some strange ones out there when you are thrifting. Some really unflattering, some strange, some see through, some really short. It’s a matter of being patient and being willing to try out different styles. This was a nice surprise.
Unbutton the dress and you have a lightweight jacket. While I am not fond of button down shirts, I really have enjoyed wearing button down dresses that I can also wear unbuttoned as long shirts/jackets.
The one good thing about the rainy days this winter is that when it is sunny with blue skies, you really enjoy it. You want to be outdoors and you soak in every minute of it. That is why I told my son, it was time for pictures.
While I enjoy spring, I am not looking forward to my boys allergies and bugs. So I will enjoy these brisk days as much as I can.

I love the button down dress over jeans look! I really like the navy coloring with jeans combo too! A lot of times the dresses are too short or I would have to wear leggings under them which isn’t partical in the spring/summer. Next time I am at the store I am totally going to be on the hunt for a cute button up dress to wear with jeans! Such an awesome look, thanks for sharing!
