Atlanta Botanical Gardens: the Tulips
If you missed my last two post about my recent visit to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, you can see the troll exhibit here and read about the orchids in this post. I love how much color you can see at the botanical gardens in the spring and I enjoyed seeing the tulips in bloom. They were in different spots than in the past so it took a little exploring to see all of the areas where they were planted.
The origami Pegasus is now a permanent exhibit here and these two tones tulips made for a pretty scene.
Bright yellow and red just scream spring! I wish the tulip beds were larger but I did appreciate the variety.
These do remind me of our trip to Kentucky two years ago and the tulips at the state capitol in Frankfort. I love large expanses of tulips. Wouldn’t it be lovely to go to one of those tulip fields in Holland?
After looking at these pictures, I am thinking I might need to get myself a bouquet of tulips to brighten my kitchen! I sometimes buy sunflowers in the summer but otherwise, I don’t buy myself flowers very often.
I was just thinking I have been going to the botanical gardens since I moved to the Atlanta area 20 years ago and thinking how much they have added each year. There has been years of course when we did not visit.
It’s a great place to visit with friends, to take family pictures or just to enjoy nature. The children’s area has gotten bigger and better over the years with a playground, a garden area and several interactive areas. There is a little amphitheater for story time. Spring is definitely the most colorful time to visit but I also enjoy it on a milder summer day when you can visit the vegetable/fruit garden (all of the food is donated to food banks) and the children can play in the water area.
A bientôt!

These are all so lovey! I just LOVE tulips (in fact white tulips were what I used in my wedding bouquet).

I just wish they lasted longer. We went back yesterday and they were already gone!

I love seeing all these tulips! It’s not quite time here yet. Probably in May. Thanks for these beautiful pics.

It is actually already over for them at the gardens. Such a short time!

What a beautiful place to visit! Not only are the tulips eye catching but the garden is so serene. I would love to visit the tulip field in Holland. I bet it is amazing!

That would be incredible for sure.

Now that’s something we don’t see at our botanical gardens. How amazing.
It is fun to be a member and to be able to go whenever. YOu definitely can appreciate it during every season that way and how everything changes.

Yes, my favorite is spring but it does have some pretty flowers when the roses bloom too.

I do love seeing large beds of tulips. When you first mentioned seeing them in Holland, I thought you meant Holland, Michigan. I have seen those huge beds, but then I realized you meant the real Holland! Daffodils are blooming around here, but I don’t think I’ve seen any tulips yet. We will probably go to the gardens at the art museum some time next week. Thanks for sharing these, Mireille!

I’ve never seen them in Holland but would love to. We saw them in Kentucky. They are already dead at the gardens so their life sure is short.

The two tone ones were my favorites.

All of those beautiful tulips in different colors is such a fun sight! I just went looking at some florals at the Jewel Box here in St. Louis and it was so fun… they had a lot of tulips out!

I still think St. Louis is a great place to visit. I should take the boys during the week this summer for a few days. There is a lot we didn’t explore.

So beautiful! I love tulips. (Who am I kidding, I love all flowers!) And these big swaths of tulips are just gorgeous. I’ve planted a few tulips in my yard this year. They are pretty, but small this first year. I hope they spread.

That would be nice if they spread. I wish they lasted longer though.
