Denim with the Ageless Style Link Up
When denim was suggested for our theme for January, I knew I could come up with all kinds of outfits. I decided to share an outfit with skinny jeans because supposedly they are not in style anymore and I feel they are still relevant. Do I wear straight jeans, wide leg jeans, bootcut jeans? Of course, I do, but I still enjoy wearing my skinny jeans once or twice a week. As soon as fall cools off and winter comes around, you will see me wearing all of my denim.
While I often wear my skinny jeans with combat boots or riding boots, on this day, I paired them with a pair of Vivaia booties I won in a giveaway last year. You can’t even tell where the jeans end and the booties start!
This sweater from Target is amazingly soft! I am glad I decided to try it even though it was a size L because I really like how it fits! I didn’t realize how cold it was when I took these pictures until we got back to the car: my hands were frozen.
A sunny day with a bright blue sky is really pretty but it can make taking pictures difficult: it was very bright! Did you notice my earrings? I thought the color was perfect with the sequin “Amour” word. They are handmade by someone local: she finds vintage or interesting pieces of clothing and such and cuts them to make earrings.
These pictures were taken the week before Christmas: to say the least the 10 days prior to Christmas were eventful, but a lot of good came out of the bad. Aging parents with health problems on both sides, changes, more responsibilities for me and other family and friend with big health struggles… It was a time for prayers!
Do you still wear your skinny jeans? How do you like to style them?
I cannot wait to see how the other ladies from our Ageless Style Link up styled their denim and which type/style they chose!

I love your black skinny jeans as they are my favourite style. I cannot wear wide jeans and think they make me look odd, so it’s always skinny for me.
I do like how you’ve styled your jeans – you look great in them

They are definitely the easiest to style!

Yes, I am like you, I love all cuts of jeans and I am still wearing my skinnies too! Your outfit is gorgeous with the black and green combination.

Thank you! Tried to change it up a little.

You have had a rough go of it lately and I am sorry for that. Ice thought about you lots of times and although it’s sounds like it might be a new norm for a while, I do hope you find the time to do things that make you feel whole.
As for skinny neanst, mine have been in my drawer untouched for about 7 months. I think the one pair I’ll donate and the other I may hold on to for a bit longer. Because I work outside of the home in a business casual environment, I really do t wear jeans M-F so I don’t need a bunch of variety. I do find skinny jeans work with so many shoes and boots, whereas other jeans don’t as much. You looks great.

Having things to look forward to helps. This weekend went by way too fast though.

I think designers want skinny jeans to go away so they keep telling people they are out of style, but women aren’t giving them up easily. They are like the 80’s shoulder pads…women wanted to keep wearing them because they made them look better. I still see so many women wearing skinny jeans, but I never see teens wear skinny jeans anymore, which is always a sign that they are trending out. I stopped wearing skinnies a year ago, but I think my straight leg jeans resemble your skinnies a lot. This is such a cute outfit. I love that sweatshirt!

It is all about the money for sure. I think confidence in ones personal style and learning about proportions and fit make a difference in how something looks. I tend to wear my skinnies with sweaters or longer tunic tops.
Joanne
I love your outfit and those earrings are fabulous! I definitely still wear my skinny jeans too and have no plans to give them up any time soon.

The earrings are a fun and quirky!

I think we’re really in an era of anything goes with different styles of jeans. I LOVE the green butterflies!

I think so to! It really depends of what your personal style is and what you prefer.

I still love my skinny jeans and I think it’s a shame if people purge a style just because “they” say so. They are so much easier to tuck into tall boots and it’s nice to have variety,

They are so much easier with boots!

I don’t think I will be giving up my skinny denims any time soon either, but I usually wear them with longer tops, which is a more flattering look for me. I wear some wide leg pants together with my shorter tops, but I am not tall, so I have to be careful not to look overwhelmed by yards of extra fabrics! You looked good in your photos, and I enjoy reading your blog

Thanks, Joan! I typically like my skinny jeans with sweaters and boots in the winter or like you, I like them with longer tunic tops.

I still love wearing my skinny jeans with my tall boots. Love the pops of green! Your sweater is so cute!

Yes, they are so practical with boots.

I haven’t ever worn skinny jeans as they don’t suit my shape. But, I love seeing them on other women. I love your sweater with its green “Amour!” It’s fun that the word is green rather than pink or red.
I hope life soon settles down for you and your family.
Enjoy your weekend, Mireille!

Thanks, Andrea! Yes, they are so nice.

Black skinnies are so classic! I’m with you there; other denim can come along, but I’m not ditching my skinnies for good. And your earrings are SO cute, Mireille- I love how bright and vibrant they are!

What a terrific look. I love everything. Thos earrings are perfection with the sweatshirt. Did I understand correctly that the local gal makes earrings to go with the sweatshirts she sells? So cute!! I am enjoying the fact that it seems we can wear about any style/cut of denim jeans right now. I just bought 2 pairs of straight leg jeans at ON for $15. I’m not ready to hang up my skinnies but it is nice to have some roomier jeans for a change.
Hope life has settled down for you and you are finding a routine in this new chapter. Between PC and I, we have one parent left. My mom was physically well but not emotionally or mentally well the last ten years of her life and I held my breath every morning when I got up that we would have a good day. Thinking of you and continuing to pray for you and your loved ones.

It really goes back and forth. Last week was good until my mom had a fainting episode and I had to go help my dad. She was fine the next day. Just that stress that changes from day to day makes it hard especially with having 4 kiddos to take care of. Thank you for your prayers!
