Lace Halftee and Edgy Oversized Vest: Monochromatic Look
The exercise of creating new outfit for blog posts is great especially with pieces that may depart from your typical look or style. I bought this oversized vest back in April in Arizona and I have only worn it once or twice. I had the idea of creating a monochromatic look so the details of the vest would stand out. I wanted fitted pieces so the vest would be the star of the show and my lace Halftee is a great juxtaposition to the edginess of the vest.
I plan to get a black lace Halftee soon, at the time of the writing of this post (mid July), my size was sold out. This white lace one is so pretty and the sleeves are nice and stretchy (MIREILLE20 for 20% off). I have worn it a few times for the blog, with a jumpsuit here and under a sleeveless dress here, under a blazer here (it’s only peeking through) and under a sweater here. I have worn it other times too, but those examples show you how handy and pretty it is.
I think this will be the formula I will use to wear this vest: slim with the vest as a topper. Something coral to match the embroidery would be really cool too. I love how many booties I have in my closet: I have a pair for every occasion! I will also try it with monochromatic black!
I wanted to share a close up of the vest: the frayed details as well as the patches with the lace-like fabric are really fun details.
The location for my pictures was a last minute idea as we took blog pictures 3 times a week for about a month in July. I wanted a change of scenery and I remembered having taken pictures on this hill with the trees once or twice before. There isn’t really a parking spot but a gate with a gravel road that leads to it, and it is right off the road we travel everyday. I went back the next day for another set.
I hope this outfit might be inspiration for an oversized piece in your closet. I really hadn’t worn this vest much until I came up with this formula and I will have to share other similar outfits soon.
Happy Monday!

I have yet to wear my Half-tee. I bought it with the purpose of wearing it under some jumpers (dresses, not sweaters) but haven’t even tried them on together. Love the lace on your Half-tee. It would work well with the pieces I have in mind for mine. But mine is a short-sleeve Half-tee. I think!! Ha, need to get that puppy out!! And my camos. I have a very comfy pair of camos that had gotten too big but I bet they aren’t now. Dad gum it. Yours are adorable. Love the contrast between the camo pants and the delicate lace.

You need to try it! I have a couple that I wear with dresses that have too deep of a v, especially wrap dresses. The ones like this one (just go the black one, I like under vests or a tee for a fun statement! These camos were such a great find at old Navy probably 3 years ago.

I thought, when I read the title, you would show a cardigan. A vest is in Dutch a cardigan. So I was a bit confused, haha. But I do like a vest too!

Lol! Yes! Just like I would expect a jumper to be an overall dress but now that I read blogs for the UK and other countries, I know that jumpers are sweaters!

What a cool look, Mireille! I love the softness of lace with the ragged edges of the vest. Such a cool dichotomy!
