Outfit Inspiration for Fall with White Boots

When I received my white boots (thrifted in Arizona, see blog post here), the first thing I did was browse Pinterest to find some ideas on how to style them. When I pin ideas, I make sure that I am pinning outfits that I can recreate with what is already in my closet and not something that I would have to go out and buy. I pinned several ideas and this was one of my favorites.

White boots, brown pattern skirt, white top and oversized denim jacket: you can definitely see the inspiration of the outfit in mine even though the pieces are not identical, but similar. I do not like the material that slip skirts and dresses are made of, so I have learned not to buy them. Midi skirts are not my favorite length, but I have found that the right pair of shoes makes a difference in how much I like an outfit with them.

When I put this outfit on, I realized how much I like boots with midi length! I have just a few skirts in that length, but now I know that if I wear cowboy boots with them, I am sure likely to love the outfit! I have quite a few denim jackets and I often try several on before choosing the one I will wear. Since I was replicating an outfit, I knew this was the one I would wear as it fits a little more oversized than my other ones.

I shot a number of fall outfits this particular week: my oldest (who was about to go to college at the time) was low on funds as he always tends to be, so I decided to be nice and shoot a lot of my fall inspiration ideas in anticipation of fall. It was mid July and for once the temperatures were in the mid 80s instead of mid 90s. I was actually not uncomfortable in these layers, but the boots did make me a little hot.

Since I was not going to wear this outfit anytime soon, I made a mental note to wear it this fall. It will be perfect for church! I am wearing a little embroidered necklace I bought in the Republic of Georgia. I love little inexpensive souvenirs like this that remind me of a fun vacation!

Do you still find inspiration from Pinterest? I love searching there when I have a special item I am unsure how to style several ways: I looked there when I bought my red tulle skirt and found many ideas I could replicate from my closet.
