Dress Up your Blazer with a Skirt

A few weeks ago, I shared a thrifted blazer my friend Jodie found for me with two types of denim in casual outfits in this post. Today, I am sharing another thrifted blazer that I found at Goodwill on the same day (as she had inspired me to look on my own!). This blazer is in a similar cut, fitted and cropped but in a nice purple color without a collar. I decided to dress up this blazer by creating two outfits with skirts and once again I wanted to incorporate some print mixing which I did in the second outfit.

I typically shoot outfits at home when I plan to switch part of the outfit as it makes it easier. I shopped my closet for the different pieces: old booties that still look new since I do not wear them often, my black bodysuit and a pretty statement necklace I bought from Michelle from My Bijou Life Online a year or 2 ago.

Midi length skirts are not my favorite. I feel like the choice of shoes is more difficult to make the length flattering which is why I typically wear it with boots or sneakers. My mom has the same skirt so we plan to twin at church one day soon!

Print Mixing with a Statement Blazer

Now I absolutely love this outfit! I did bring this skirt to Costa Rica but ended up not wearing it so I am hoping to wear it for a date nigh soon. While the print is light and summery, I can think of a lot of ways to wear it year round so it will stay out hanging in my closet.

I really love this old Target clearance striped shirt for mix printing! The thin stripe is not overpowearing and lends itself to making fun outfits. The back is really scooped and cute.

I plan to wear my blazers throughout the fall and spring. I might be on the lookout for a more boxy oversized one but will think about it: I am really trying to make good decisions while shopping (shop less, save more for vacations) and trying to pare down my closet.
