Stripes and Layers

Stripes are here to stay and they sure add interest to outfits. Today, I am sharing ways to layer them in the cooler months. Of course, you can wear them on their own as in the first outfit but they are perfect with all kinds of toppers. I am not sure I have a favorite way. The two tops I wore in these outfits are old. One has 3/4 sleeves while the other is longer at the bottom and at the sleeves. I also have striped tops for summer too.

Standalone

I like this particular top because it is a little thicker than my cotton one. The button detail and solid side panels are fun. I am not sure when I got this and where but my best guess is about 4 years ago at Ross or TJMaxx.

Vests

I have several thin quilted vests but this thicker oversized vest my friend hand me down last year is fun to wear for a different look. It added some warmth on a rainy day of errands.

Heavy Knits

This nice cream sweater has a loose knit so if it is windy and cold, you may need a layer under. I made sure to pull my long sleeve striped tee at the waist and at the wrist to add interest. It was even cold enough to wear my furry combat boots for the first time this season! Target has had some great sweaters this year and it is even better when you pick them on sale!

Print Mixing

I am always up for mixing some prints with stripes so when I was browsing my closet for a combo, I thought this green thrifted sweater would pair well with my top for a cold day. As I mentioned before, I still like my knit infinity scarves and particularly like them for extra warmth in the cold months.

Casual with wide leg jeans

I really enjoyed wearing these striped outfits and this is the last one I came up with. While I am wearing my stripes under a sweater again, the pant style and sneakers gives it a very different look. It was very comfortable and fun. It’s a video capture so I apologize for the blurriness of the picture!
