Christmas Looks: Festive Wear for Church and More

I wanted to share what I wore this weekend for church to give you some inspiration for your get-togethers this year or next. I shopped my closet for these looks, some items are really old and I don’t even know where I got them while others are more recent buys from this fall. All have been worn in different ways before. I knew I wanted to wear the silver sweater one day, the velvet another and that my red tulle skirt would be part of my Christmas outfit. From there, I created my outfits.

Fuzzy Silver Sweater

I first tried the sweater with a long black velvet skirt, but it looked too plain. I looked at my skirt selection and picked this denim skirt. Then came by western boots from Belk which I have really loved wearing, and I added a necklace my aunt sent me to give interest to the front of the sweater.

The bow on the back of the sweater really is pretty. I still want to wear it with white jeans: maybe next week!

Velvet Skirt and Bodysuit

I wore this skirt last year (blog post here) with an off the shoulder burgundy top and my cowboy boots, and here it is again paired with the same color and boots. I had forgotten about the second outfit from that post: I may have to repeat that one too.

Looking back at last year’s post, it reminds me that I can’t get inspiration from myself: it is perfectly okay to repeat an outfit. This year, I wore the outfit on Christmas Eve for Sunday Liturgy.

Red Tulle Skirt and Black

I always want to have several winning ideas on how to style a new piece of clothing. When I bought this red tulle skirt, I immediately got onto Pinterest to come up with outfit ideas. One of them was to pair the skirt with black for an outfit with a little dichotomy.

I like the contrast of the sweet skirt and bodysuit with the black faux leather jacket. The heeled boots add to the feminine aspect of the outfit. I wore this on Christmas day for church and changed into something more comfortable for our family brunch.
