Bright Dress with Blazer Inspired by Laura (IdoDeclaire)

At the beginning of September, Laura shared a floral dress and how she would transition it for fall in this post. The fuschia and pink colors in her dress made me think of this thrifted dress of mine and her liquid leather jacket from Clara Sunwoo made me think of my thrifted blazer. So that is how this outfit was born!

I didn’t really think about how both pieces were thrifted until I wrote this post. That is the beauty of buying versatile pieces and of taking notes when you see someone wear a combo that looks fun. I quite often take screen shots of an outfit while browsing my IG feed or reading a blog post. It helps me shop my closet and create outfits I wouldn’t have thought of.

I absolutely love these colors: the purple blazer works with a lot more than you would think: I even wore it over a green dress once (it took me a while but I found it: here) and I paired it with a  couple of skirts in the past here (I don’t own either skirts now, they were a little too tight!).

I changed the way I organized my earrings and now have them all displayed on 2 trees (one specifically created for earrings while the other is a repurposed item in my house). Being to see all of my choices at a glance makes it easier to rotate all of my earrings or to find the one that will work the best with an outfit.

I definitely do not wear blazers enough to justify buying one retail so having 3 that I have thrifted has been the way to go: I do not wear them often, but they are great when I want something a little more structured or dressier than a denim jacket.

I just love my pink pumas! I bought them in kid’s size because they are cheaper. I originally found a pair for half the price at Ross, but they were kids size 6 which was too large for me. I loved them enough that I bought them full price and I am getting that cost per wear down steadily as I wear them at least once a week.

Do you still wear brights in the fall! I love how bright colors can brighten my day or even someone else’s day!

A bientôt!
