Bethlehem Walk

One of the things on my bucket list for December was to take the boys to a Bethlehem Walk in Marietta. I had taken my two oldest years ago (maybe 10+ years) and had really enjoyed it. So we made time on our schedule and after trying to go the first night (it was too long of a line and wait), we went on the closing night which was a Monday. The drive is about 35 minutes from our house and the Bethlehem Walk takes place outdoor on the grounds of a Methodist church.

Everyone is dressed in the time period of Christ, and you walk through the “city” stopping by booths to learn about what people are at that time, what they shopped for, etc. Above is a rabbi teaching about the prophecies about Christ’s birth.

Yes, I kissed a real fish! The boys did too and we really had a great time asking questions about different things. There were soldiers walking the town asking if you had paid your taxes and written your name for the census (there were booths for both).

We really want to come back next year! The event is free and goes for 3 nights and the church has been doing this since 1992!

It really helps create a better picture in your mind of how life was in the first century for the coming people in Palestine.

Christ is born!

A bientôt!
