Favorite board games
I grew up playing board games with my brothers. I remember playing Monopoly and if I didn’t get Board Walk I would give up! We played Scrabble, Mille Bornes, the Game of Life and a few more games. Once of my favorite games that I wish I could find was a game that had you touring France following different routes: I am hoping to find the game for sale somewhere on my trip but as of right now I don’t see it anywhere for sale. Since I try to limit screen time for my children, when they are not playing outside or reading, I encourage them to play board games.…

Republic of Georgia trip, our road trips (part 3)
Welcome back to our little series recapping our trip to the Republic of Georgia. Today I will share our 3 day excursion outside of the capital. We were hosted in a little house on someone’s property in the town of Surami. It is about a 3 hour drive from Tbilisi. Our hosts welcomed us with a meal when we arrived and the rest of our meals were prepared in our little kitchen with the food we brought with us. Electricity was turned off a few hours that evening and we did have access to spotty wifi which we only needed for posting pictures on Facebook and Instagram. We spent one…

Inspired by Jaymie Ashcraft (navy and olive combo)
Look # 1 Today I am sharing with you 2 outfits featuring olive and navy. Those are not colors that I usually combine but after seeing it on another blogger (Jaymie Ashcraft), I got inspired to see what I could create from my closet. As most of my post, I do not have links for my clothes because most of them are not new and also because my aim is to help you take advantage of what you already own and what you may want to add to your closet to help you create more outfit combinations. Use the colors or the type of clothing as your inspiration just as…

Tbilisi, the food, the market (Republic of Georgia part 2)
Welcome part to my series of post about our trip to the Republic of Georgia. Today I will share about the food (I could fly there right now just for some hachipuri or kinkali!) and my visit of the market. Fresh food One thing you will notice when you visit the Republic of Georgia is the fresh food. Meals are most often served with a tomato and cucumber salad, cheese and fresh bread. Ingredients come fresh from the market if possible and our experience at Hotel Gomi and our stays in the country proved that! The food is delicious! The market After our first visit, I knew that I wanted…

Republic of Georgia family trip (Part 1)
I wanted to dedicate several post to our trip to Georgia last May because if you are like I was a couple years ago, you may not know where Georgia is on the map and may not know there is a country called Georgia. We actually have a number of Georgian friends and had already been introduced to the culture and food. Georgia borders Russia and Azerbaidjan as well as Armenia and Turkey. It is a beautiful country full of history, Orthodox churches and monasteries, and breathtaking scenery. This past trip was our second trip there. We are grateful to have friends there and each time my father in law…

Inspired by Jo-Lynne Shane
Since I often find myself replicating outfits that I have seen, I decided that I would share them with all of you. Since I am trying very hard to stick to my shopping freezing (oops, I did buy a dress I had been eyeing since last year, but I promise, no more till this summer!), I am finding inpiration through the different bloggers I follow while shopping my closet. The following look was inspired by Jo-Lynne Shane and I really love how it turned out! Both the shirt and the white jacket were thrifted a few years back but I had never worn them together. One of my favorite jeans…

Investing in experiences
While buying a new gaming system might sound like fun to your children, treating them to experiencing different things as a family will help build relationships and lasting memories. And it will probably be easier on your wallet too! We do have an old wii sytem that was given to us and the children do get limited time playing on it (we try to limit screen time to 45 min or so a day not including tv time which depends on the day). During weekends and school breaks we like to have some family fun. There might be an initial money investment but in the long run, it is money…

Favorite spring break memories, linking up to The Queen in Between
Today, I am linking my post to Shelly from The Queen in Between! The theme is spring break memories! Spring break is one of my favorite school breaks. It is a precursor to summer break, the weather has usually warmed up some and the sky if hopefully blue without a cloud. We typically try to incorporate outdoors activities during this break and meet up with the cousins. Whether it is a trip to the zoo, a museum or hiking, we like to get together. Spring break also equals spring and I usually start buying flowers to bring in spring into the house. I am not a green thumb but the…

Find deals on international flights
As I have mentioned before, I grew up in France and have always loved to travel and discover new places. I lived 30 minutes from the Spanish border so that was always an easy destination and we visited Rome once as children. I also lived 2 years in Mexico City when I was a high schooler and have lived in several states in the US. While it is harder on your budget to travel as a family, it is still possible! Here are the steps I follow to find a good deal on airplane flights and have a reasonable budget for the trip. Choose your destination I typically choose a…
