Another Late Fall Outfit with Olive
I wasn’t planning to share this simple late fall outfit, but my boys really wanted to take pictures for me when we visited Lookout Mountain and Rock City (Chattanooga, TN), so I obliged. There were so many cool spots to take pictures that I got a lot of pictures of them too. I will be sharing more about Rock City in a few weeks. Since the temperature was going to be in the 80s that day, I decided to wear a pair of shorts. It was overcast thankfully so it actually was pretty enjoyable. I bought these Puma sneakers last year to wear in Costa Rica and I love that…

Monochromatic Beige for Fall
One of the things that I like about the change of seasons and the change in temperatures is how your closet because once again a playground full of “new” things! If you have somewhat defined seasons where you live, you might be putting away some of your clothes for part of the year, so when you switch out your clothes, they feel new once again. Both of these pieces here actually stay out year round (the sweater for cooler nights), but I haven’t worn them together yet. Since I live in Georgia, I can wear sandals at least through most of October even if I don’t often choose to. You…

Runner’s Spotlight: Laura
I am back with another blogger friends who runs! Laura has 2 young daughters and has a lifestyle blog at I Do DeClaire. She lives in Illinois and works part time as a speech pathologist. 1. How and when did you start running? I started running in 8th grade. At the time I had played soccer a few years and wanted to get into shape for it. I was never any good at soccer. So a few years later when I missed soccer tryouts because I was sick, I decided to join the track team. After that, I joined cross country in the fall. That was when my true love for distance running…

Tulle Skirt 3 Ways for Fall
I was pondering what my goals in blogging were apart from the selfish reasons of having a hobby and having fun with fashion, and one of my goals is to inspire everyone to be more creative with what they have in their closet. That is one reason why I enjoy writing these posts where I share one piece in my closet several ways. In this case it’s a tulle skirt, but you could really apply these ideas to any solid skirt in your closet very easily. If you are looking for more tulle skirt inspiration these are a few posts where I styled this skirt: with stripes with a white…

Date Night White
Last month, my husband and I celebrated our 22nd anniversary. It had been a while since we had gone out, so I wanted to dress up. I came across a cute outfit to replicate on IG and took note of it. I share the inspiration picture at little later in the post. I always regret not planning date nights more often as the boys are old enough now to take care of themselves for a couple of hours, but sometimes budgeting gets in the way or scheduling does: from week to week, my husband schedule changes so I cannot plan to much in advance usually. In this case, we decided…

Bike Ride: A Taste of fall
We ended the month of August with a fun bike ride on the Silver Comet Trail. We had planned to rent a truck to carry all of our bikes, but it being Labor Day Weekend, they were all rented out. We were happy to manage to fit all five bikes in our 2 cars: the hubby had to empty his of all his work things, and put down his seats. My youngest had just learned how to ride his bike 2 and 1/2 weeks prior and we knew the trail was easy as it is flat and straight. Ready for a fun adventure? One of the things I like about…

Outfit Inspiration for Fall with White Boots
When I received my white boots (thrifted in Arizona, see blog post here), the first thing I did was browse Pinterest to find some ideas on how to style them. When I pin ideas, I make sure that I am pinning outfits that I can recreate with what is already in my closet and not something that I would have to go out and buy. I pinned several ideas and this was one of my favorites. White boots, brown pattern skirt, white top and oversized denim jacket: you can definitely see the inspiration of the outfit in mine even though the pieces are not identical, but similar. I do not…

Magic Dress: One Dress: Endless Styling Possibilities
A couple months ago, Jodie shared a fun dress on Facebook and IG that had many styling possibilities. I don’t often buy exact things that I see others wear, but it does occasionally happen. Knowing that the dress was from a boutique we had shopped at when I visited her, I like the idea of shopping small. To see more styling ideas, make sure to visit Jodie’s blog post here! She shares 7 ways to wear it while I only share 3. The Dress The dress comes from the boutique Just be Youtiful and Kym, the owner, keeps a fun rotation in her shop and will ship to you. Jodie…

Runner’s Spotlight Part 2: Mark’s Life Lessons
Last week, Mark H. shared his running journey with us and he had a few more words of wisdom to share with us. Here are his life lessons learned from running. Thanks again, Mark for sharing with us! 1. Never say you can’t do something. 2. Never say you never will do something. 3. You might be surprised at how something (or someone) you were never interested in before suddenly becomes very appealing. 4. Learning to be disciplined in one area can overflow into every area of your life. 5. Keep going at a steady pace. 6. Don’t go to fast or try to get ahead of yourself or you…

Lace Halftee and Edgy Oversized Vest: Monochromatic Look
The exercise of creating new outfit for blog posts is great especially with pieces that may depart from your typical look or style. I bought this oversized vest back in April in Arizona and I have only worn it once or twice. I had the idea of creating a monochromatic look so the details of the vest would stand out. I wanted fitted pieces so the vest would be the star of the show and my lace Halftee is a great juxtaposition to the edginess of the vest. I plan to get a black lace Halftee soon, at the time of the writing of this post (mid July), my size…
