Runner’s Spotlight: Sarah T.
When I think of Sarah, I think small but mighty. Sarah impresses me with not only her strength and endurance in terms of running, but in her strength of character, so I was very glad that she was willing to share her story with us! I often run with Sarah and another friend, so that is why you see us as a trio in these pictures! Pretty soon, though, we won’t be able to keep up! How and when did you start running? Until my freshman year of high school, I was a nerd who hated sports. I decided to try track after a gym teacher casually mentioned that I…

Denim Dress for Date Night
When I thrifted this dress this summer, I liked several things about it: the fit (as long as I don’t eat a big meal before) and the versatility of it: the zipper is functional and unzips completed which means it will be perfect as a long fitted denim jacket. I will be sharing a look with it as a jacket next month, so stay tuned. Because the dress is very fitted, I probably will wear it the most as a jacket, but I like the opportunity to style it this way too. I actually used to have another denim dress (that I had won in a giveaway), but because it…

An Awesome Thrifty Outing
I cannot believe it took me 6 years to visit the Park Ave Thrift store in my town! Maybe it is a good thing since I was very impressed with the clothes selection and had to limit myself to which categories to browse. My friend and I decided to get together last Friday and spend the morning together. We hiked, thrifted and had lunch together. We have known each other for about 20 years as she was my student teacher before getting hired at the school I worked at. She was hired to work on my 3rd grade team. We have been friends ever since! I found several things new…

Cozy October with the Ageless Style Link Up
Cozy October… That is the theme for the Ageless Style Link Up this month and while I dream of warm layers, I still have to take into account how the temperatures change throughout the day in Georgia in early fall. So yes, I can do some layers, but they have to be light layers and they have to be strategic. I love a sweatshirt with a pair of shorts and that is one way to be cozy in the cool mornings and evenings. I love my morning coffee on the porch and as it cools off, I start bringing a blanket out. This one is the softest I have and…

Late Summer Sunrises
I do not have to travel far to enjoy pretty sunrises, I just have to time my runs just right! At the end of August, we had several runs that timed perfectly for some beautiful sunrises. It is sometimes disappointing when it is overly overcast or we pass the picturesque spots before the sun is up. So today, I am sharing 3 morning sunrises because they always bring a sense of wonder and awe to my soul. This field often has cows grazing later in the day… I always enjoy the few large majestic trees in it and the wildness of weeds and bushes not being trimmed. This was a…

More Outfit Inspiration with White Western Boots
When I bought these boots (Jodie found them for me), I wasn’t sure how I would wear them, but I knew they would make for some fun outfits! I turned to Pinterest for some inspiration and now, I feel like the possibilities are endless. The style really works well with everything in my closet and the contrast is really pretty with denim and patterns. I will add the pictures from my last posts and links at the end of this post. The fun thing about fall is that you can mix summer pieces with fall pieces: in this case, instead of wearing sandals, I am wearing boots. If the weather…

Another Late Fall Outfit with Olive
I wasn’t planning to share this simple late fall outfit, but my boys really wanted to take pictures for me when we visited Lookout Mountain and Rock City (Chattanooga, TN), so I obliged. There were so many cool spots to take pictures that I got a lot of pictures of them too. I will be sharing more about Rock City in a few weeks. Since the temperature was going to be in the 80s that day, I decided to wear a pair of shorts. It was overcast thankfully so it actually was pretty enjoyable. I bought these Puma sneakers last year to wear in Costa Rica and I love that…

Monochromatic Beige for Fall
One of the things that I like about the change of seasons and the change in temperatures is how your closet because once again a playground full of “new” things! If you have somewhat defined seasons where you live, you might be putting away some of your clothes for part of the year, so when you switch out your clothes, they feel new once again. Both of these pieces here actually stay out year round (the sweater for cooler nights), but I haven’t worn them together yet. Since I live in Georgia, I can wear sandals at least through most of October even if I don’t often choose to. You…

Runner’s Spotlight: Laura
I am back with another blogger friends who runs! Laura has 2 young daughters and has a lifestyle blog at I Do DeClaire. She lives in Illinois and works part time as a speech pathologist. 1. How and when did you start running? I started running in 8th grade. At the time I had played soccer a few years and wanted to get into shape for it. I was never any good at soccer. So a few years later when I missed soccer tryouts because I was sick, I decided to join the track team. After that, I joined cross country in the fall. That was when my true love for distance running…

Tulle Skirt 3 Ways for Fall
I was pondering what my goals in blogging were apart from the selfish reasons of having a hobby and having fun with fashion, and one of my goals is to inspire everyone to be more creative with what they have in their closet. That is one reason why I enjoy writing these posts where I share one piece in my closet several ways. In this case it’s a tulle skirt, but you could really apply these ideas to any solid skirt in your closet very easily. If you are looking for more tulle skirt inspiration these are a few posts where I styled this skirt: with stripes with a white…
