Stripes for Spring with the Ageless Style Link Up
I love stripes and have multiple striped tops in my closet, so when Joanne suggested stripes for our April Ageless Style post, it was a matter of choosing which top I wanted to highlight. This is probably my oldest striped top in my closet and if I look closely at it, it is starting to show signs of wear and it is pilling some. However the stripe is thinner and the back has a pretty scoop, so I have not been able to part with it yet. But after washing it once more, it was time: this is its swan song! I remember wearing it in France in 2019 and…

7 Days of Skirts: Spring 2024 Edition
I enjoy creating this post every fall and spring because it inspires me to shop my closet and wear my skirts in a new way! Some of these skirts are many years old while others are from the past year, some are thrifted, some are retail, but all have a special place in my closet. Modcloth skirt -circa 2018-19 This skirt is still one of my favorite and I always find a new way to style it. Today, it’s with a simple tee and a belt. I added a necklace from my aunt and my white sneakers: you will see that I tend to wear sneakers with skirts and dresses…

Black Dress with Western Twist
It’s spring break! It’s a fun and exciting week! My college friend and her family are visiting Atlanta (and us) for a few days and we will probably join them on a couple of outings to Six Flags and the aquarium. She has 3 sons close to my two oldest’s ages and the boys all get along well with mine. Then on Friday, I am heading on a solo trip to Arizona to visit Jodie and I am so excited for some fun time visiting with her. My look today is inspired by Melanie’s outfit above. I follow her on IG and she has the cutest Western outfits and when…

Thrifted Olive Tunic Dress for a Museum Outing
I did a search on my blog and it appears I never showcased this olive tunic dress I thrifted a year or so ago. If I remember correctly I spent maybe 3 dollars and bought it when I was thrifting with my mom. A couple weekends ago, I decided to finally take advantage of the Bank of America free 1st Saturday of the month admission to museums. Sadly, it only gives free admission to the cardholder(s), so my husbands and my tickets were free, but we did have to pay for the boys. The Tellus Museum is a local science museum with permanent and visiting exhibits. It also has a…

How to pack for a 3 day trip in a backpack
Since several of my blogger friends thought it would be difficult to pack for 3 days/2 night in a backpack, I decided to share what I am packing and how for today’s post. I will be traveling to Arizona next week and will visit with Jodie. We will be taking 2 sets of blog pictures as well as have dinner out and I plan to run once or twice. So needless to say, I need a variety of clothes and shoes, as well as a possible bag to bring back some things. My travel outfit on the way there is the one I shared in this recent post. The Bags…

All Black with a Bright Hue
When looking for inspiration for spring blog posts, I came accross this website PureWow and this article with 31 Outfit Ideas to try in March. I took a few screenshots of outfits I knew I could replicate with pieces from my closet. As you know, I love to shop my closet in new ways and make the most of what I have. Here is what I came up with: I thought of my bright blue jacket right away with its sheen and cut and of course all black is easy to come by in my closet. I figured my black joggers paired with my black bodysuit would be a fun…

Pantone Colors of the Year: Spring Dress for the Ageless Link Up
When I took a picture of my daily outfit for my solid dress post, I decided that this dress needed a post of its own. Then I realized that I fit the theme Bo (bosbodaciousblog) had chosen for the Ageless Style Link up for March! Her theme was to showcase a Spring Pantone color. I purchased it at a local boutique on the clearance rack in the middle of winter knowing I would have to wait till it warmed up some to wear it. With our weather in Georgia it didn’t take long for us to have some beautiful weather in the 60s and a couple layers was all I…

Black and White: Dressy Outfit
Sometimes, when I come up with ideas for blog posts that are not my daily outfits, I wonder why I shop since I always seem to find new combinations with older pieces hanging in my closet. I was inspired to put together a black and white outfit after reading Laura’s post here. Since Laura’s black and white outfits were meant for date night, I decided to choose dressy pieces from my closet. I do not own any pumps so my choice of shoes was simple: my heeled booties. I thought they worked well with my cuffed black pants which I “inherited” from my friend when I helped her go through…

Travel Outfit: Spring Time
Last month, I put together a daily outfit and as I wore it that day, I realized that it would be perfect for my flight in a couple of weeks to visit my friend Jodie in Arizona. It’s a variation of my travel outfit to Costa Rica last fall (see here) and probably one I might wear on our summer flight too (I’m still trying to figure out if this would be an outfit I would want to be wearing for 20+ hours). First of all, may I mention these white sneakers? I bought them a month ago at Academy Sports and I love them. I actually bought a back…

How to Style Solid Color Dresses
As spring approaches, I will be wearing more dresses with a few less layers. For this post, I decided to shop my closet and share some ways you can accessorize your solid color dresses. Unlike a print dress, you might want to add a little pizzazz to a solid color dress, so here are a few ways to do that. I decided to share examples of 5 different dresses (different cuts and lengths), but each combination could be interchanged with another. Add a Scarf I love this teal/turquoise dress that I found on clearance at a local boutique. A halftee was necessary for cleavage coverage, and my thrifted scarf paired…
